Need Two Construction Managers & Two Engineering Techs For Haiti.

Construction Managers 104K per annum
Engineering Techs are 87K per annum

this is OCONUS so if you play your cards right and don't come back to US for more than the statute provide 92K is tax free.

Live in Haiti for one year, get vacation R&R every six months. Work 6 ten day weeks (what else is there to do in Haiti anyway) Go through JAX for indoc one week before start (Late Sept)

I only want guys with degrees in construction management or construction related engineering.

Don't be an alcoholic and have a sense of adventure. Physical fitness helps too.

I am an Ag and I want to help Ags

Send email to JGreen@Medusa.com and will coordinate further.

If you seem fit the bill, I will send you the specific requirements and help you with your resume. The client (Department of State) has to approve who gets put on the payroll.

How much R&R every 6 months.

2 weeks each 6. I would take the second after the expiration of 12 months to insure tax forgiveness

One year gig with option for one more year.

This sounds amazing. However, my old lady is still working her way through another degree.

It would be a nice change of pace working on something with significant impact compared to the daily grind of focusing on the bottom dollar. Maybe if this opportunity is still available once she is done with nursing school.

Good luck with the search.

$104K per year shoulds cheap for this work.

I'd have to agree with 79 that 104k seems low for a job like this ina 3rd world country. You can find that kind of pay here in the states with the right kind of construction. You just wouldn't benefit from the tax free part.

The money seems ok really. Not great but not bad.

I think this is more for someone looking to get some good experience or something different to build a resume.

You looking specifically for civil engineers? Also, when are these positions likely to get filled by? I'm in the middle of some work at the moment, so I'm probably out of the running for this, but just curious.

Amigos,

79 is right, and wrong, imho. The money frequently is better overseas, however these rates are set by the Govt through an IDIQ. Regardless, the opportunity is great imho for some people, and not for others. For example, the opportunity to cut your teeth overseas, which many never get a chance to do, means escalated earning potential over a lifetime.

I don't have to have a Civil Engineer, but some construction related degree is needed. For the ET slots, I don't need someone with ten years experience, frankly the pricing militates against that level of experience anyway, but I will listen to anyone.

This is not a terribly complex project, but the project managers still need to be able to show they have managed some horizontal project work before. Homebuilders fit well in here because of DoS' particularized needs.

The email address is mine. Thanks to four or five of you I've gotten resumes and am moving those guys forward in the process.

All the guys who fit the bill will be submitted to the DoS and they will pick the actual winners but we are on the IDIQ.

Again, if you have questions, just zip me an email and I will talk to you.

I might be able to use an economist, based on experience, in some other types of work, particularly black market/shadow market analysis in crummy places.

Got a friend who's working an office job as a civil in Houston who's looking for something less boring. He just graduated.

I sent him a link. This is probably definitely something he'd be interested it.

Guys,

thanks for the responses, we've triaged the resumes and sent them in. Some selected, some not.

On the other hand, there are some other opportunities for DoS in Haiti, so we're passing non-selected resumes to the Prime in order to support their effort because, frankly, they suck and we don't.

If I have any other ops come up I will pass it on.

If you've sent a resume in the past 72 hours don't sweat it, I have been in DC and NYC finalizing a proposal in support of some other guys overseas doing some other stuff related to a completely different thing in another crappy place. So, I will get back to you and try to finagle something for you or at least point you in a direction.

Rather have someone with a construction management degree than a construction manager with almost 20 years experience?

Never understood (nor do many in the field) the fascination with CM degrees. They do write pretty letters though, but I think real world experience trumps that.

Good luck in your search.
