A collaboration between TAMU/Blinn & the rest of the A&M system shools with several pathways to many associate degrees, some bachelor degrees and some certifications.
Think the old Blinn Team model where students took their classes at the main A&M campus and the Blinn campus in Bryan. Now they take the Blinn courses physically at Rellis in Blinn classes from Blinn instructors. (It freed up space on the Blinn campus to increase their overall numbers of juco students they can enroll in classes on their main campus.) The Blinn Team students still transfer to A&M if they meet the various Blinn Team requirements and their GPA is sufficient for the program they want to transfer in to. If they don't meet the A&M requirements they have options of continuing towards a bachelors from a system school (Corpus, Tarleton, Canyon, etc., etc.) So a defined path to keep the Blinn Team kids that can't get into A&M after the program is finished working towards a bachelors degree from a system school.
To confuse matters the A&M Engineering Academy students also take some Blinn Classes at the Rellis location their freshman and sometimes sophomore years. They are a different program from Blinn Team but still splitting time in classes between the main A&M campus and Blinn at Rellis.
Pros: Small class sizes. Lower $ cost for tuition than A&M. Ample parking if you buy a parking pass. No juco students in classes where historically the Blinn instructors had to sometimes go slower than the Blinn Team students would like.
Cons: Long drive and bus rides to Rellis. Students say the Blinn folks don't curve as much and readily as the A&M instructors do. Class schedules can be bad due to limited course offerings/times. You can't shoose your instructors the first semester. Any misteps academically and your time to transfer to A&M completely is extended.
