My kiddo was born in Texas but we moved to South Carolina about 5 years ago due to my job. Since he will not graduate from a Texas high school, is there any way to get around the out of state tuition requirements for Aggieland?

Unfortunately, you're outside of the 3 year window to have established residency.

But if he qualifies for certain scholarships, they will waive the out-of-state fee. Right?

I believe certain scholarships and potentially my wife being an educator are the only two hopes that I've found online.

True, but accumulating $4,000 in scholarships is pretty challenging from Texas A&M unless you're a National Merit.

i would look into options where an OOS student gets in-state tuition pricing by joining the Corps:

Going through same thing my daughter in HS, we live in Utah but of course me being a good Aggie raising her to bleed maroon, she thinks it is aTm or bust...hell, her initials are A.M.C I told her about the CORP giving in state depending if she gets certain scholarships and while it would be a great thing for her, she would never join.

Assuming she gets in even under the hollistic application process, I will be damned to pay out of state tuition. What part of your wife being an educator will give in state tuition? My wife is a teacher as well so curious....

I live in KC and my boys know that the Corps and Sul Ross scholarship is their only option.
