My son's (a junior at A&M) new laptop is broken and needs to be sent back to the manufacturer.

Does anyone have a suggestion about what he can do for a replacement while his gets repaired. I'm guessing it will be a few weeks without his laptop.

Go to the computer lab when he needs a computer.

You can also check out laptops from the library.

First, he should've taken it to TAMU CIS Hardware Repair in the General Services Complex. They are a certified Dell, HP, and Apple repair shop and can work on many problems on other machines. Students get massive discounts.

If it is software related, he can take it to the Help Desk in Teague.

If it is already sent off, he can check out laptops from the annex and Evans. They do have a time limit.

His computer is only 6 weeks old and has a bad hard drive. It's under warranty, so repair will be free. he just won't have one while it's being fixed.

If he's taking online classes then he should recheck one out from library. Otherwise he'd be living at the computer lab. That being said, if he just needs to check ecampus every couple of days or type up something small the computer lab on campus works great.

They can do warranty repairs on Apple machines as well. Doug McHan runs that shop. GREAT guy.

They're out of the General Services Complex on Agronomy.
