How long do you want to ignore this user?
My little sister is applying to A&M and has been waiting her decision since September. Last night her AIS changed to the next step and her "major" changed to "TEAM." She clicked the acceptance box. However, we are not sure if this means she is accepted to Blinn TEAM or if she is simply under consideration for Blinn TEAM. The website is unclear. If anyone from admissions or the prospective student center can give me any insight on this would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that means she is going to have to go the Blinn team route

Changes in the system are a normal part of the process. Seeing a change such as yours just means that a student is being considered for all options. Once an official decision is made then you will see the steps change and can view the decision.

Feel free to give me a call if you have questions.

My daughter just got an offer for Team Blinn. She's disappointed as she would rather have done Gateway. My question is, as a Team Blinn student can she participate in FISH Camp, FLOs (Freshman Leadership Organizations) and Recruitment?
Thanks!

I'm pretty confident that yes she can do all of the above. I know 100% that she can do Fish Camp.

My cousin got Blinn team but decided to go to A&M Galveston for 27 hours then transfer to College Station. This is easier than doing the Blinn team. He going to enroll in summer school and take 9 hours and then take 17 hours in the fall. Then should be able to be in college station by the spring semester.

Blinn team is way better than A&M Galveston. You can actually live on campus, go to the sporting events and stuff, college station life. Living on a Island with 1,000 students must be very annoying after months...

You can buy a A&M sports pass while your going to A&M Galveston. You can be at A&M in 27 hours if you go to A&M Galveston vs Blinn Team your not a fulltime Aggie till 45 hours and a 3.0 GPA.

TEAM students can apply through the transfer process as well as complete the entire TEAM Program. The minimums for transfer are 24 hours with a 2.5. However, most majors require more than 2.5 and also require the completion of specific courses critical for making progress in the major. In the past students at TAMUG were required to complete both the fall and spring semesters of the freshman year at TAMUG before they could change campuses. I am not 100% sure whether or not that is the current agreement.

Just to clarify, you can also purchase a sports pass as a TEAM student. Also, the full TEAM commitment is 60 total hours, 45 at Blinn and 15 at TAMU.

A student must complete at least 27 hours at TAMUG and have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible for a change of curriculum (there's no longer a guarantee). It's important for TAMUG students to be aware of the specific requirements outlined by the department of interest. The following website provides details for the current requirements:

Im currently a senior ID grad at A&M. I also had to do Blinn TEAM because my high school did not rank, and i didnt test well on the SAT. My thoughts after going through it:

1) Blessing in disguise. She can get her basics out of the way for a portion of the tuition price.

2) She can still be a part of all organizations, except Greek life I believe. At least 3 years ago I dont believe Greek life accepted TEAM students (although i could be wrong, didnt have much interest). Also you can still purchase sports passes.

3) If she knocks out science and math requirements for her preferred major, with good grades, she has a great chance of getting in early. Advisors heavily weight this.

I was accepted into my major after 2 semesters. In fact, most if not all of the students I knew in the TEAM program were accepted before the 2 year time period.

Downside: have to buy 2 parking passes, finals schedules usually dont coincide and suck, driving back and forth.

This is exactly right. Girls on Blinn TEAM are not allowed to rush; this is not TAMU's rule, but the Panhellenic council's. Guys on Blinn TEAM are allowed to join fraternities.

This is also exactly right. Over half of the TEAM students transition to TAMU full time after one year instead of two. I strongly recommend that your sister contact an admissions counselor at TAMU. You can find contact info here:

Blinn team's website says if you buy a parking pass at A&M, Blinn gives you one free.
