Im currently a senior ID grad at A&M. I also had to do Blinn TEAM because my high school did not rank, and i didnt test well on the SAT. My thoughts after going through it:
1) Blessing in disguise. She can get her basics out of the way for a portion of the tuition price.
2) She can still be a part of all organizations, except Greek life I believe. At least 3 years ago I dont believe Greek life accepted TEAM students (although i could be wrong, didnt have much interest). Also you can still purchase sports passes.
3) If she knocks out science and math requirements for her preferred major, with good grades, she has a great chance of getting in early. Advisors heavily weight this.
I was accepted into my major after 2 semesters. In fact, most if not all of the students I knew in the TEAM program were accepted before the 2 year time period.
Downside: have to buy 2 parking passes, finals schedules usually dont coincide and suck, driving back and forth.
