Will a D transfer from Blinn to TAMU?

A friend of mine asked me this question today.

If your degree only requires a D on a certain class, can you get a D on it at Blinn and transfer it in for credit?

I have read the undergrad catalog backward and forward and see NO criteria regarding grade limitations on the transfer of Texas CCNS courses. My first inclination is to agree with you, but I can't find anything to back it up.

I may be wrong.

I found this link regarding students in the business school and it says a D can transfer for credit if it is considered a passing grade at the school where you earned it.

it may count if its an elective, but if its major specific, like an accounting major getting a D in accounting, not chance at all it transfers.

My daughter was told last week that only B and above will transfer into BIMS program for credit.

I think for the most part no. Only a C or higher will transfer to most schools.

Ds can count. Call the registrar's office. Depends on whether it's a major course, although some major just require a 2.0 in major courses, not a C or better in each one.

Cs are fine for individual courses in BIMS, but might not work for those planning to change into Bims.

No even as a Bims student a C won't transfer from a community college in prerequisite courses. It's for the benefit of the student.

I am proud to say I transferred a World Lit grade of D from Blinn-Brenham to Texas A&M University back in 2000.

That class was a major drag for 5 weeks during summer 2000.

It can transfer to A&M, but it is up to the department to determine if they will allow it to count for credit.

I had several D's that I transferred from Blinn (and Acu) and the counted toward my degree.
