Hey guys I plan on applying to A&M’s M.S. in Sports Management program. Does anyone know how competitive the program is? There is no GRE requirement and I want to know what I have to do to be a competitive applicant. Anyone in the program or know much about it?

Well there has been a lot of discussion on TexAgs about this major, so the only thing I can tell you is to be sure that you have plenty of contacts in the sports industry already before taking this as a masters degree. This industry is all about knowing people so make sure that you're making the best choice for a masters degree before you start.

Cool. Do you know much about the Masters program?

I did my undergrad in Kine (sport mgmt) at A&M and I am currently in a masters program for sport & exercise psychology. We have similar interests - I also want to go on to do research and teaching.

Post your email and I can send you what I know as far as 'general' admissions requirements for MS Kine programs. I am not an expert, but have seen so many listed since I started looking at MS and PhD programs in the field that I have a feel for what is required.

1. At least a 3.0 in last 60 hours (To be competitive)
2. 3 letters of recommendation
3. No GRE
4. Resume
5. Statement of Purpose
6. Relevant work experience

I plan on earning a BBA in marketing spring 2012. I have already completed all of the requirements I’m only waiting to receive my degree in May. Any Idea how competitive the program is? If apply in summer 2012 for the spring 2013 term when should I hear back?
