I need to take one more class, MGMT209. I'd rather do it online because it's easier and I won't have to venture over to West Campus anymore. Does anyone know what class you need to take? Can you take the MGMT211 equivalent and have it transfer to MGMT209? Lastly, where did you take it online?

I thought MGMT211 or 212 may transfer over. I took ACCT2401, which counts for ACCT229, and I got ACCT209 credit. MGMT212 is BUSI2301 and MGMT211 is BUSI2302, so maybe I don't think I could even take the MGMT211 equivalent.

I do enough studying in CPSC. Would rather make my last semester more relaxed.

mgmt 211 will not transfer for mgmt 209 for the minor. you have to take mgmt 209 to get the busi minor. you can speak to the busi dept about that.

BUSI 2302 will transfer to Mays as MGMT 211 and will count towards the minor. If a student has taken MGMT 211 as a BUAD major and then changes curriculum and now wants to minor, MGMT 211 will count for the minor in place of MGMT 209.

I was told that 211 will count for my business minor. After reading this, I hope that's the case.

I transferred in BUSI 2302 and it counts towards MGMT 211. That said, I'm probably not going to minor in business.

mgmt 211 did not count for my Business minor. I had to take mgmt 209 in order to receive it. I had many discussions with the Busi dept.

MGMT 211 absolutely, positively counts towards the BUAD minor in lieu of MGMT 209. Trust me. I know for sure. It always has. It's like taking MATH 166 in lieu of MATH 141.

I don't believe it will count on your minor. If I recall correctly, a friend of mine to MGMT 211 for a required class in our major, then decided to add a minor and had to take 209 to do that.

I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Please do not use the replies here as the final answer to your question. I highly recommend contacting the Undergraduate Program Office at Mays Business School for an answer.

given my experiences with advisors (not the aero advisors), I would recommend talking to at least 2 business advisors and making sure their stories match. If I didn't check on this stuff redundantly, I would be effed right now.

I was always under the impression that Mays gives your department leeway in deciding which lower-level clases count towards the minor and then the upper-level classes are set by Mays.

Like someone else said, talk to a Mays advisor and your department advisor.

No, it isn't up to your dept academic advisor to approve classes for the Busines minor. They follow the guidelines set by the business department.

You really need to speak with the advisors in the business dept.

quote:
Transfer courses: The student’s home college or major department may grant, subject to agreement from Mays, transfer course work for the 200-level courses. FINC 309 (renumbered to FINC 409 as of Fall 2008), MGMT 309, and MKTG 309 (renumbered to MKTG 409 as of Fall 2008) must be taken at Texas A&M University.

That's straight from their web site and I think that's what's causing the confusion. Mays gives leeway for the lower-level minor classes but they're still pulling the strings.

I didn't bother with the minor but that's just me.
