It was misused and needs a corrective action.

Don't let half a million Chinese bot farm accounts manipulate you into needless paranoia over AI. Check your sources and consider if what you are being told is overhyped and trying to exploit your fears. China is very much really actively doing this in organized fashion.

"Australian beauracrat used AI to save time.He unknowingly and stupidly gave it unfettered access to systems it shouldn't have access to. Beaucrat blames AI "went rogue" to cover his ass."

The Guardian should never, ever be considered a reliable source for anything.
