He likes to make money. He understand the importance of political connections in regard to those endeavors.

Before Trump, the R party was not exactly a welcoming place for gay men. Bessent found a new home and is doing good work.

I don't think he wants to nor stands a chance of being FGPOTUS.

Treasury has no tools left in the tool bag to address that. The solution is to cut spending but both parties have decided that we are not going to do that so you will continue to see Hail Mary bond moves like this to try and trick the market and investors that we are doing something about it.

I don't really blame him; he's only doing what he can in the face of non-action by Congress and POTUS.

When you say "oligarchs" do you have some names? Are you sure you understand the term? And I mean better than Bernie Sandwrs understands the term?

You could argue we have a kleptocracy, particularly under Biden.

But the concepts of oligarchs in the United States is pure, Grade A rhetoric nonsense that again misuses a defined term / concept to misinform folks.

People really sound strange when they mention our government and oligarchs in the same sentences unless they are saying the US has not had oligarchs for well over 100 years.

His growing your way out of debt is utter BS. Federal receipts are approximately 17% of US GDP, so just to cover the current deficit and get to spending neutral, we'd need an extra $10.4 trillion in GDP - only an over 30% increase in GDP.

Politicians need to stop spending like drunk sailors.

Well, going back to beginning of Trump II one of the primary reasons for his tariff strategy was to try and grow us out of debt. That was never going to work even if half of them weren't subsequently overruled by the SC. Because Washington made the decision that cutting spending is off the table, permanently.

Democrats made this decision at inception and Republicans solidified their decision not to do it under Biden when Kevin McCarthy was leading the R's in Congress. I listened to him live on Meet the Press make this declaration and then Biden cornered them during his SOTU and confirmed it with a verbal from the crowd. Controlled opposition once again.

So, tariffs were going to have to come up with (now) $2T in new revenue just to offset our annual deficit and break even. And then do that in perpetuity going forward. lol. Sure.

I would like see him on the ticket as VP under Rubio.

Having lived and operated a business in the 1980s, the highest interest rates in 20 years means absolutely zilch to me.

We had prime rates north of 20%, and mortgages north of 15%, we would have killed for today's rates.
