In a tune-up scrimmage, the Washington Huskies women's team (average age~20-21) lost to a boy's U-14 club. U-14 = 12 and 13-yr old's. So generally pre-growth spurts and the positive athletic effects of puberty.

The boys won 2-1. BTW, the Huskies are ranked #6 in the nation.

Watching women's sports can be very rewarding (for some), but generally women will never be athletically competitive with men. The left should recognize this and celebrate the difference, rather than allowing men to dominate women's sports.

And don't even get me started on the woke movies/tv series portraying women as capable of keeping up or surpassing men in combat etc. :-)

No wonder so many women are so unhappy; once again the left is setting up impossible expectations in projecting equal outcomes, as opposed to equal opportunity.

This will not stop ESPN from promoting the heck out of it though.

Last night I saw they had a special, for the women's Pro Softball draft. I didnt even know this existed.

Worse....this isn't a one-off, either.

Women vs young teen/pre-teen male exhibition games keep ending like this. So often, I have to think it always ends like this or we'd hear "See!? We're equal!!!" Screamed from the rooftops.

I used to think "The Ocho" was something made up for the movie Dodgeball.

I mean, if there's money to be made, and if The Ocho actually exists, it's not far from brand for ESPN to try and make money off of Softball.

Heck, if the WNBA can get more recognition, and way more pay now, it might happen to the other girls.

Meanwhile Trump has gathered in the Oval to reestablish the Presidential Fitness Award. Let the libs have the ladies in women's sports as a campaign issue again. It helps the good guys tremendously.

Are they going to use the "it's just a scrimmage and we were out there just having fun and for the practice" rhetoric to justify the end result?

There's a really easy solution for equality then...

Prevent puberty for everyone!

That should work out all of our problems in a single generation!

I have had many debates with friends on whether a top 10 nationally ranked high school boys basketball team could beat the WNBA champs. I say they could, but a lot of people say otherwise. What do y'all think?

Wouldn't even need to be that highly ranked, honestly.

It's speed. Daughter played competitive collegiate soccer, and the boys are just so much faster - both in a straight line and laterally.

In sixth grade, I could throw a softball further than the boys' winner during Field Day. Both Fran and I (she won) ran the 40 faster than the boys' winner. Fran and I were tall for our age and had longer legs covering more ground per stride.

In 7th grade, I could swim faster. By 8th and 9th grade, that was all over. But I was a killer at girls' volleyball.

You can't force people to watch it.

As was I. 6'7" and 180lbs

I was still bigger and stronger than most, if not all, of what the WNBA has to offer, even now.

For all the politicizing of it, this is the saddest outcome of the leftist push. Fathers, protect your daughters from buying into this crap and help them realize that, as girls/women, they have certain gifts men don't and they should foster those instead of trying to mimic men.

We had friendly scrimmages between the elite girls and boys club teams up until 7th grade as part of preparing each for big showcase tournaments. They were quite competitive.

You have to stop doing it by 8th grade because as the real testosterone levels of puberty kicked in for the boys, not only did it stop being competitive - it stopped being safe.

It is absolutely remarkable how consistent the changes are, and how drastic. Anyone arguing biology at this point doesn't make a difference is being intentionally ignorant to the plain evidence that anyone can see.

Agree. In elementary school the boys and girls played dodgeball together at recess, for instance

But in 7th grade junior high, girls' sports and boys' sports were completely separate. We didn't even run track together other than warm ups on occasion. And that was mostly weather related forcing us to train between rain showers.

Yep, it's the equivalent of boys taking a heavy dose of steroids when they hit puberty. Testosterone is an amazing hormone.

Gary Blair used to bring in a team of guys to practice against his women's teams at A&M. The whole idea was to toughen them up and get them used to playing against teams stronger and faster than them so that the actual women's teams they played against would seem slow and weak by comparison.

When my brother was playing soccer in high school, one of the teams they played against had a girl on the team that was not only a really excellent player, she was also drop dead gorgeous. None of the guys defending against her wanted to play her tough/rough like they would against anybody else and she would take advantage of it every chance she got. She was a very effective weapon for that team.

I starred this, think it is underrated. I know that Kate in her tight trousers is a fantasy.

To be both ageist and sexist, I think that younger adults and especially many younger women, have lost the ability to tell fantasy from reality. Hence, electing the new mayor of Seattle, NYC, etc.

E.g. - the new "standard" for dating - 6'2", packed, >$200K/yr- will let the woman play house w/o children... is totally unrealistic at the macro level. But many women project this as their outcome. Fantasy, not reality.

At least when I was a teen and reading certain "letters to editors", I knew they were fantasies.

BTW, I did get lucky - my 5'0" wife is the best thing that could have happened in my life - reality totally trumping fantasy.

I'll be honest.

I would love to watch a replay of this scrimmage, because it would be entertaining.

Does anyone know of a similar type match played between much younger boys against collegiate or pro women where we have coverage of the game on video?

LOL, you have some dumb friends. A top 10 boys (men) team would absolutely CRUSH a team of WNBA "all-stars." It would not be close. A middle of the pack AAU team would still dominate the WNBA champs. The athleticism difference - speed, strength, quickness, agility - would be staggering.

Why would anyone want to watch WNBA??

Men: They want to watch hot feminine women (like in beach volleyball), not shemale, butch manly types. So men won't go.
Women: They don't care about sports itself, they want to go to see beefy athletic manly men. They don't get that in the WNBA.

Who watches?
Simp "I am a male-feminist men" and lesbian women.

Small demographic.

Right.

The logic is simple in that the high number personas do not care about WNBA as they don't get what they want. The ones who do are very small in number.
