"Disgruntled employee" rigged a rental car with pipe bombs and propane tanks and crashed it into the Athletic club he previously worked. 1 death (perp) no injuries.

My unnamed source (people on twitter) says he, Bruce Whitman 48, is usual suspect for portland, ties to antifa, and is disgruntled because he tried to unionize the athletic club while working there back in 2018.

If he does have ties to antifa, does a car bomb further domestic terrorism label?

I think it's a good bit of a self licking ice cream cone.

If I had to guess this guy was a poor to marginal at best employee. Led a simple but fairly spoiled life with little to no accountability for his actions. At 48 he would have been born in 1977 or 78 so Late Stage Gen X or Xennail. HS dropout or HS diploma but I'm guessing no college. Seems a little old to be in the quarter million in student loans crowd, but I guess it's possible if he waited a decade before doing college.

Either way, was very likely a woefully underperforming employee that was no doubt the "team member" that made everyone else's job harder. COVID likely further drove his disillusion to the point that he absolutely was fundamentally broken.

Edit to add... ANTIFA is that organization that attracts the disaffected individuals. If course we know they don't offer help or encouragement. They preach defeatism and angrily cast blame at the system that they cannot begin to understand. They can't understand it because it requires personal accountability, and the realization that they are the captain of their own lives.

Guess we need to ban explosives.

His actions, while heroic, had too large of a carbon footprint. The gas powered car, large amount of earth destroying propain, and bombs hurt mother earth. He should have considered using repurposed weapons like a pointy stick, or projectiles like earth friendly stones and rocks.

As for my unnamed source (again, just crap on Twitter that popped up when searching the perps name), the only thing ive seen differently/updated is that he worked there in 2022 (not sure if thats when he got canned... original post said unionization attempt was 2018).
