My memory's a little foggy. Maybe someone can remind me. How well has astroturfing Democrat Senate candidates in Texas worked?

Is this an admission of defeat for the US Senate? He's got bigger fish to fry, I guess?

All these betting markets are so freaking stupid. They're nothing but a momentary popularity contest.

And all this comes from some Democrats saying they need to run a "white, Christian, male" in 2028.

Well, Talarico isn't a Christian, and he's barely a man either.

Democrats have no idea what a Christian is much less a man, so, I'm not really worried.

He's no where near jihadi-friendly enough to win the Dem primary after he is crushed in Texas this year.

Any Dem contender will need the full endorsement of their moslem/sharia caucus/base, and while the Mamdani's play nice with useful idiot GLBTQTS+@)%R(! voters for propaganda they don't want to elect a homosexual, or a jew (Shapiro), let alone someone loudly claiming to be christian.

I predict that his Senate bid will end similarly to Allred's and they'll try and run him for something else. Maybe he gets in the Presidential race briefly enough to get a lot of out-of-state money and then tries running for governor. The grift never ends.

I get severe Obama 2.0 vibes from him. Everyone dismissed Obama when he gave that speech at the DNC, while many of us knew right at that moment that he would be our next president. I pray this evil clown does not win in TX, but I have a very bad feeling. I am seeing a lot of politically uninformed and shallow middle of the road people who only see his "let's all love each other and get along like Jesus wants us to" messages but will never see the freakish degenerate stuff he openly advocates for, or the marxism, or how we twists the bible in extremely blasphemous ways to advance the far left agenda, because their algorithms don't show them that stuff, and the media certainly doesn't.

This howdy doody lookin MF has a very bright future I am afraid. This is not Beto 2.0. A lot of low info Christians will vote for this guy, and he is going to kill it with the politically lukewarm soccer mom crowd because his face looks so boyish and innocent, and he says really nice warm and fuzzy things nonstop.

Beto at least didn't come off as creepy...but yet not even Beto rose to prominence like he was supposed to. Obama was very different.

I agree this isn't the last we'll hear of Talarico, they will keep running him like they have with Davis, Allred, Beto. But I do not see him appealing to enough voters, especially as a white male. He will never be extreme enough for the modern democrat voter.

Obama, Allred, Beto - all married with kids.

Talarico's lack of, hmmm, interest in females is going to hurt him. Probably not with white women but just about every other demographic.

I think the only person that can win for Dems in 2028 is Newsom. While he has ran California in to the ground, he has good looks, speaks well and has a Trump like combat style. Women will overlook his handling of Cali, Black people do not care and will vote Dem regardless and Hispanics will be split

Trump desperately needs to turn the economy around to help Rs chances

Good news is the gay Buttigieg is rising in the polls and Harris is winning in most

On Talarico, he has no chance, any gay white man is not going to win. Black turnout will be low, Hispanics do not like it.

He will lose handily this fall no matter who the R candidate is. Again Black people will not turnout for a gay white guy and they basically cheated in the primary. Hispanics definitely will be at best split

I pray that you are right, but worry that you give the uninformed masses too much intellectual credit. Hopefully I am just bring paranoid...but I see quite a few people, who I would have never expected supporting a freak like this, re-posting his stuff on Instagram etc. Because literally all they see from him is this civil, "let's all get along and treat each other kindly", windowdressing. I think tons of people truly see him as a moderate. Hopefully they do more digging into him, because their algorithms won't.

But moderates don't win national elections for the Dems. He isn't extreme enough or tough enough for what they want in the post-Obama era.

people think Talerco is too "moderate"? Why? Because his campaign ads before the primary made him appear the complete opposite of everything he had actually said and done before?

Agreed.

The media desperately needs someone other than Gavin to talk about when it comes to '28, and really, the only person the left has is Talarico.

He barely stands a chance at not losing horribly to whoever the right puts up this year. We won't hear about him on the national stage once he loses his bid.

That being said, if he pulls off the upset of the century, since it is in Texas that he would win, the media will slobber over him in ways that would make the way they did over Obama look pale in comparison.

Social media >>>> than network TV campaign ads imo. And most people on social media are seeing very cherry picked clips of him appearing to be a kind and loving Jesus following moderate, I promise you, I see it too bc I like to keep tabs on the enemy. Their algo's are not letting them see what our right-winged algos are letting us see. They will never know how obsessed he is with trans stuff, men in womens sports/showers/locker rooms, gender reassignment for minors, outright biblical heresy of the highest order...the kinds the bible warns very vividly and harshly about.

He's going to be a problem for Team Red.

He could probably stand to win a statewide election before being considered a serious presidential candidate. In the last hundred years, I think we've had two Presidents who hadn't held a statewide or national office - Ike, who had some pretty unique qualifications, and Trump, who is a political unicorn. Even Obama won a Senate seat. Right now Talarico is Buttigieg or Beto - he appeals to what Democrats want in a white male candidate, but his actual qualifications are lacking.
