I don't have time to read it, but even I'm stunned by this one.

Judge orders Trump administration to halt White House ballroom construction unless Congress OKs it :: WRAL.com

Out of all judicial rulings and suits, I never expected this one to be important.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

The old ballroom is already gone. This is just another demented TDS-infected judge throwing a tantrum, over an old/dilapidated office building next to a famous address.

I do think significant judicial reform is needed once Trump is out of office (as it can't happen while he is in office due to TDS). Especially of the DC circuit.

Is it possible that Trump didn't actually have the authority to tear down a wing of the White House without consulting anyone first?

Please find in The Constitution where Congress must approve any renovations to the White House, especially when it is with private money.

So we need to leave an open pit next to the White House for now until whenever ? ?

You know that the Dems will try to block any congressional review/approval.

Since this project was mostly or all privately funded what makes the Dems/Libs think that the private funding will still be there whenever they decide to build something ? ? It could be years before this gets a go ahead.

Haven't read the order, just a WSJ story, and apparently, the judge is saying that spending the money, even if it is donated, requires an appropriation from Congress. Goodness knows how many changes have been made to the White House over the years without an Act of Congress authorizing it.

We've joked about the judges getting involved in what seemed to be satirically ridiculous cases.

Now the satirically ridiculous is the norm, it's no longer a joke.
There is nothing that they will fail to get involved in, standing or no standing.

Jackie Kennedy practically redid the entire White House when she was First Lady and then gave a televised tour of her restorations. Cost 32 million back then.

If this snow-balled into and became precedence that ALL government spending must be done via Congress approval, then I could be ok with it.

Currently there are too many ways for Congress to avoid doing their job and big gov keeps writing checks it cant cover.

But unfortunately this is just a case of a judge's TDS showcasing itself.

This is not correct. Major renovations have historically been approved by Congress.

The renovation during the Bush and Trump administration was approved by Congress.

Truman went to Congress and received approval and funding for the 1948 reno

Calvin Coolidge went to congress and received funding and approval for the 1927 reno.

Fords pool was not . . .

Have OSHA sue the judge personally for creating a safety hazard. It will get tossed for judicial immunity blah blah blah…. But the headlines would be fun.

How does congress approve something requiring no appropriations? I don't see how it is within their article 1 authority if the activity requires no congressional funds nor is one of their powers.

This after the whole building was gutted and rebuilt due to structural concerns only a decade earlier under Truman.
