They have to spend $50 million to fix the infrastructure, buyers need a Texas issued ID to purchase, and spend $20 million on law enforcement center and delegating illegal immigration enforcement to local Leos.

It may be too late to save that area, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Who will oversee that they actually follow through with the agreement? Their second cousin's brother in law?

Still terrible this happened to that area, but better late than never.

Major victory? I think not. Making them spend money on their project, which they continue to own, doesn't seem to be much of a victory. Need an ICE office every 100 feet in that cesspool.

I hope that if I am ever found guilty of a crime and I am fined or otherwise ordered to part with some of my money, I can talk them into letting me spend that money on landscaping, fencing, etc. at my personal residence.

Probably the seme folks that "lost" some of the soil analysis/drainage analysis reports back in the beginning or perhaps someone on Abbott's staff who will start work right after he receives another $1.5 million from the Harris family.

Still waiting for a swarm of National Guard and ICE to come into that area and deport by the thousands.
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

local law enforcement has to arrest illegals and detain them for pickup. It looks like there will be a police station as well.

Cool story, Ken. What happens when you're no longer AG pretty soon?

These roaches do not assimilate and do not obey the laws of the United States of America. Securing money is not good enough.

Get rid of them.

Good. Fewer America-hating, Democrat-paid voters.

I'm still blown away they were allowed to build all that in the first place and state turned a blind eye to all the illegals living there. Especially with all the cartel activity and crime that happens out there. Hopefully they will do a mass sweep and kick them all out

I wonder if the $1.5 million in campaign donations to Greg Abbot from the Colony Ridge developers had anything to do with it. The below information is from Grok.

Quote:

Reliable reporting from sources including The Texas Tribune, The Texan, and others consistently indicates that the Harris family/developers donated approximately $1.5 million to Abbott's campaigns since around 20172018 (with some reports citing $1.4 million specifically since 2018, likely varying slightly by exact timeframe or inclusion of spouse contributions).

Like everything else under that globalist Hotwheels, the damage is already done and bribes already pocketed in a nice offshore account in the Caymans.

Did Colony Ridge Developers Ever pay their Rollback Taxes to Liberty County when this land was originally taken out of Timber Use and subdivided? If so let's see Liberty County and the Cleveland School District post it.

Then Liberty County Engineer Bergman , who oversaw the beginning of the development, is now a local Developer himself. And his daughter is now the District Attorney.

I wonder if Paxton, Abbott, and Briscoe Cain have returned all of the campaign donations given to them over the years by the Colony Ridge Developers?

"… it is also agreeing to terms that make it impossible to sell to illegals going forward. Buyers must have a Texas-issued identification (so no blue-state IDs will suffice) or a legal visa issued since Trump took office in 2025."

"Colony Ridge is also required to spend $20 million on a law enforcement center inside the development. Texas is empowered by 287(g), which delegates immigration enforcement authority to local law enforcement. So the new police presence will likely lead to more deportations in a development where hundreds have already been rounded up."

For all the complaining on the thread, this all sounds very positive to me.

I just put a project through this area. This is very good. Some of these residents don't have running water or electricity. Its literally a third world country in those neighborhoods.

I may have missed it in the details of the settlement, but they should have forced the developer to fund new schools in the area. Cleveland ISD is caught in a death spiral. The legal residents who can vote at school bond elections keep voting down new schools because they don't want to pay for schools for illegals (understandably so).

The developers gave away Millions over the years to state of Texas And Local Liberty County Politicians.

Amazing it was allowed in Texas- by far the largest Colonia in the U.S.

Nah, we'll just ruin the schools Cleveland ISD home owners paid for.
