I haven't been paying very close attention to the price of gas but I knew it was getting closer to going under $2. This was the first time I've noticed it under 2, but I may have missed it somewhere. This is in Texas on 290.

This has to have an effect eventually on consumer prices, right? And I would think the Vz oil would further impact it.

I've been out of oil and gas directly for close to 10 years now so I'm not as familiar with the industry maneuvers.

Never thought I would see that again.

I was in Florida last month and it seems about a dollar higher there than Texas. Taxes make a difference I suppose

There was a headline yesterday that mentioned the price drop is due to there being a glut of oil in the world right now.

Does anyone know why there's a glut worldwide and also how long it might last so we know how long prices will stay where they're at right now?

Surely that's not Northern California.

If so, I would have expected it to be higher !

To this point, I do not remember ever seeing such wild variations in gas prices locally in the past. It used to be, when gas prices were stable, that an entire town or area would stay within 10 cents or so of each other. I see 50-60 cent swings within just a mile or two of each other.

Kind of weird.

SoCal - and my vehicle (gas guzzler) requires premium, $4.79. Gavin and the Dem supermajority plan to make up for it by forcing higher wages, cuz economics brah.

Colorado Springs.

1.77/gallon. Not everywhere, but that's what I've seen in a few places.

I know, I know, it's Colorado. You'd expect it to be closer to California prices, not Idaho or Texas.

$2.03 for regular in Blount County, Tennessee.
$3.08 for diesel.

I don't think folks realize how important the price of crude affects a lot of stuff in this economy. I just hope the oil companies are making some coin.

This weekend in Longview one station was 2.12 and station across the street was in the 2.50's. Nobody was at the pump at the 2.50's station of course.

ETA: Brookshire's was around 2 bucks the other day.
