He has family money I'm sure he has used for investments of some variety. Even as young as he is, I'd imagine he's work at least $500K or more. But based on his family ties, I'd think he is worth well more than this.

Keep in mind that if you are paying on a mortgage that will reduce your net worth depending on how much has yet to be paid back. And mortgages for New York properties are very high on average.
