So why are people surprised that the morons elected additional morons?

Most probably should not be surprised.

Yet it was still a little jarring to see the VA AG be able -- for a law enforcement position no less - to survive his epically hateful and cruel statements.

And NYC is a surprise in that it was going this way, though his win today is not a surprise given the latest postings and polls, and all that. But that it could happen -- that still somewhat surprises.

As to the rest, you are right. Most Kamala territory anyway.

Very little of it was surprising, other than the turnout, but Democrats were heavily motivated because of their hated of Trump, which is what most Democrats ran on because it is all they have, and the government shutdown, and they outspent the Republicans by probably well over $100 million nationwide, even though the DNC is broke. They still have their endless funding from people like Soros. The RNC basically did noting to help any of the major candidates, and their GOTV effort is **** once more.

Also doesn't help that a lot of MAGA voters will only turn out to vote for Trump. Trump and the GOP need to work to get them to vote in every election, even once Trump is gone.

It's the same problem here in Brazos County. Around 10,000 people voted in the $400 million Bryan ISD bond election. About 6000-6500, depending on the three different bonds, voted to approve them, which will eventually result in BISD raising property taxes to pay them off. The pro-bond campaign was well funded, promoted by the school board, and had kids outside all the polling places today with signs telling people to vote for the bonds.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

It does speak volumes regarding the majority of the Democrat Party and their mindset.

Put a person in power who openly desires the murder of children in front of their mother.

Same folks who cheered Kirk's assassination and only regretted Crooks' aim in relation to Trump.

This is who we are dealing with on the other side of aisle. That is true regardless of where we fall on the right-hand side of the political spectrum.

If we don't show up for the midterms next year, then we're going to see more of these thugs gain office.

Because the media and democrats are trying to manufacture any shred of momentum that appears in their direction. They are trying to spin this as a Trump rebuke to help them in the mid terms as much as possible. New York was like choosing between a quick death and a slow death on the ballot this year.

The dems will claim big victories here, but the truth is unless something strange happened they were going to win all these races regardless.
Overwhelmingly voting for a socialist mooslim in NYC is really low even for the dems though.

School districts are the largest employers in most communities and you know which way they voted. I'm actually surprised they didn't hold the bond election in May when turnout would be even lower.

They just believe America works for the federal government. They're entitled to their jobs.

I think the margins may cause some concern, but honestly have not looked at them too closely. This was more of a chance to Dems to f-up than for Rs to score a victory.

We didn't get an Appalachia State at Kyle Field moment. But folks acting like this was a NC championship game where Rs got blown out by a suspect D team is completely unsupported by reality. But you can damn sure bet the Dems will spin it that way.

Government shutdown likely helped this and that's both good and bad for the Dems. If I were Trump, I would use the reopening as the reason to end the filibuster. The senators are currently eating bagels and grovlox with POTUS and likely receiving a pretty big, beautiful, new set of marching orders.

Gloves on the R side need to fully come off before socialism spreads it roots even more. Do NOT give ANYTHING to the Dems to reopen the government. Nothing.
