CEO pays the bribe campaign contributions to right people on the blue and red teams. No one goes to jail. Maybe pay a small fine.

When they call them "non-governmental orgs", you know they are gov money laundering schemes. The level of corruption and tax fraud in DC is unfathomable. Meanwhile we all get screwed playing by the rules, and get an IRS notice if we dont report a $100 HSA distribution on our taxes.

Yeah, donating to an NGO is a fools errand. The vast majority of those dollars do not go to the stated purpose. And anything tied to GoFundMe should be highly suspect.

I think you missed the headline...... GoFundMe created the accounts and accepted donations WITHOUT knowledge of the NGOs. Not sure if they passed along the donations.

and not just international big NGOs....this story is for friends of a municipal library.

Yeah, I saw that. From the guy in the interview it sounded like he had no idea it was going on, so I assume GFM was keeping the proceeds, or at least the 16.5% cut plus processing fee for each donation. Seems like a clear case of fraud on a massive scale.

Seems like they are doing it for all GMOs and you have to opt out rather than opt in.

Like I said, donor beware. I would never give to any NGO anyway after all the abuse and fraud the Trump administration and DOGE has turned up.

I'd be curious to know if USAID defunding helped push the need for this.

This is what i think is going on. I assume Go Fund Me is doing it to take the fees and interest in their accounts and to keep showing growth.
