Portland's KATU has a series of news flashes on the situation with ICE. It is most interesting to read the comment sections. You get the impression that 'boots on the ground' is what the man on the street want.

Bring in whomever, the army, to clean up every last tent. That's the Portland I want back. Where the laws on the books are actually enforced and more importantly respected.

Sanctuary city/state policy underlies most of this leadership dysfunction. Since the underlying purpose is to evade the immigration laws and aid those here illegally, I hope the Trump admin takes action to have sanctuary status declared illegal and punishable. We should not put up with these 'special' political encampments that separate themselves from the rest of the nation.

We are the wealthiest country in human history with a foundation of freedom yet we've allowed violent people to take control of our cities.

Normal people on the street realize that their freedoms are drastically curtailed. Their daughter isn't safe in most parts of town. Their son isn't safe going out with friends after dark.

So what Trump is doing is going to be very popular with most normal people.

I always say, "the more you have to lose, the less likely you are to do something to lose it "

Most of these agitators have little to lose and are willing to do what they want with very little negative impact. At least that's what they think.

They'd rather smoke weed and play video games than invest in themselves and better themselves.

Media running cover for DNC excesses nationally is basically what allowed it. The people in the street don't get much say when you have the overlay blanket of lies.

Portland is obviously doing shady stuff with voting and illegals - they can't let the other side know what's going on- hell it's obvious Portland's own people don't support this

Most people I know from Oregon hate Portland.

I travel to Portland often for work.

It's got a lot of homelessness near the Amtrak station, but is nothing close to a war zone. You can still enjoy a nice vacation there with local sports, food, and culture, and easy day trips to Mt Hood, the Columbia Gorge, and the Oregon coast.

If you like the outdoors, I'd highly recommend a summer vacation to Portland.

Okay, the people on the ground who LIVE THERE are tried of the crime, homelessness, and drug use.

I also travel there for work. 10 years ago, work trips to Portland were a lot more fun. There were homeless tent cities then, but easy to avoid. It's gotten far worse over the years. Pearl district was full of local breweries and trendy gastropubs, but homeless have made it there too. But the freaks who have been blockading a federal building for months so they can surround and attack federal employees while calling their occupation a "music festival", even if only occupying a small area, is not OK. The city is a hub for non-binary misfits, which is ok, but many of them end up radicalized as oppressed and the activist groups like Rose City Anti-fa have grown in size and support over the last 5 years and getting more violent, making the place not so welcoming anymore.

Overall, the access to beautiful nature is still outstanding. And just like downtown San Francisco or Chicago, it's still fine to visit if you stay in the touristy areas. It's just that the trends in most American cities of promoting criminals as victims and supporting attacks on law enforcement officers trying to enforce laws is deeply concerning. It should not be accepted.

Yet the Democrats deny there's even a problem. Look at the fat **** Pritzker and the racist moron Johnson, claiming everything is OK in Illinois in Chicago.

Just like the border.
There's no problem at the border.
Well maybe there's a problem with the border but there's nothing we can do.

Trump comes in and fixes it within months.

Democrats are liars.

Another example of why we shouldn't use the left's doublespeak names.

Just call them Unconstitutional Cities.
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

Or do like I did and fly into Portland and immediately drive several hours away so that you can enjoy all there is to enjoy in Oregon (and it is a lot) without ever having to deal with the Antifa losers. Next time I will probably fly into Redmond so we don't even have to go through Portland.
