Someone on X made a good point (can't find it now).

Paraphrasing: If we leave the UN, as soon as a dem is back in office they will rejoin it (like the back and forth with the Paris climate accords). It might be better to stay in and kill/change it from within. Doesn't mean we can't substantially decrease our contributions...

Don't kid yourself. It was intentional. The left are such children. They would've rolled out the red carpet for Nobel peace prize winning Lord Obama. And the escalator would have worked perfectly as well as the tele prompter.

Possibly. They are even more used to abrasive talk from politicians. It would bug them less, and they would focus more on the policies.
