Other than the tweet in the OP, there are no reports of gunfire at the Naval Academy. Just reports of threats made. Wonder where the OSINTDefender is getting the info.

There have been dozens if not hundreds of shooting threats, reports of shootings/gunmen, bomb threats etc. occurring today.

I was typing so no, I did not at the time, and what was showing up on Twitter has been a lot of circular reporting.

Not saying it didn't happen, just that reports are all over the place. No official report have yet to say there was a shooting.

Lots of police and fire/EMS just standing around on the live streams from local media. No one seems to be in a hurry or worried about continuing gunfire.

Edit: Guess we'll see which report is right.

FOX news has video of a guy being carried out on a stretcher and report two others wounded so there was an incident that led to injuries. Thankfully the guy looked like he was conscious and should survive. Shooter dressed as an MP knocking on doors per report

You want to wait an hour to post updates as the news is breaking?

1. This was reported as an active shooter because shoots were indeed fired

2. A bolo went out for a student

3. A helovac was called out

4. News bread they school/authorities erroneously sent out the bolo

5. It just came out this was likely a terrible accident

The 48 hour rule was never about posting. It was about taking questionable "news" as immediate gospel and letting your emotions follow in kind.

It was a throwaway comment though. If people want to get ragebaited all day and night that's their prerogative.

Looks like a midshipman heard the rumor about an active shooter dressed as a cop and attacked an MP with his parade rifle. The MP then shot the kid. Midshipman in the hospital and expected to be ok.
