Trump Family amassed ~$5B on paper after WLFI launched. The crypto currency can now be bought and sold on the open market. The Trumps hold about 1/4 of all WLFI tokens.

Trump's sons are the founders, but the President is listed as "co-founder Emeritus". Trump helped launch World Liberty a year ago. Since becoming President, Trump has been a huge proponent of crypto.

How do y'all feel about this? Trump putting the weight of the presidency behind crypto makes this look like a conflict of interest to me. And akin to congressional insider trading - which happens all the time and I despise. Elected officials should not be using their office to get rich(er).

I saw one of his sons at a conference touring WLFI and crypto
I am probably wrong but it had a serious jumping the shark vibe

No problem with it as long as it's legal. Sure beats all the corrupt stuff the Biden Crime Family was involved in.

Yes, it's a "hmmmm..." look. But given the way he's been treated...

Also, about 95% of the time, what's best for DJT is best for the country.

I can definitely see how it has at least the look of impropriety.

He's been pimping crypto lately. What was his stance prior to this coin? Like TikTok, and other issues, he flipflops at opportune times. Is this one of those?

Biden was a terrible president. So was 0. Not a fan of what either of them did.

But this post in not about them. What do you think about the topic at hand?

He's a liberal so of course he flips! Amiright?!

But I think he's been on it for a while and did campaigning on it this go round.

I think he's drives crypto more mainstream, which may hurt crypto long term as everyday legitimacy and ultimately regulation takes away a favorite playboy of dictators, oligarchs, sex traffickers, cartels and the CIA.

He has legally licensed his name image and likeness (NIL) to watches, sneakers, and Bibles. Bitcoins are a natural progression.

He is a liberal, fiscally, but he flip flops because he has no overarching driving principles on lots of things.

He's old school lib, and not a progressive, so one of his only held principles is being pro-America, in general, even if his fiscal policy is genuinely bad for America (spending, tariffs, etc.).

True.

But unless he can make/enforce/drive regulations on those things like he can crypto it is, like the conveyor, moot.

Don't the Trumps know that's not how you make money in politics. I've been watching democrats and RINOs and you are supposed to steal directly from the America people through NGO's, kickbacks from Ukraine for supporting war and insider trading by voting on legislation for or against companies after buying or shorting their stocks. Then, when taxpayers come after you, accuse the taxpayers that actually made the money through hard work and sacrifice, of being greedy wanting to keep more of their own money.

What is even worse is that Trump pushed the "No Tax on Tips" deal into the Big Beautiful Bill that he signed into law. And now it appears that several Trump family members have taken jobs as servers at a Cracker Barrel. They are going to make a killing on the No Tax on Tips deal! Holy conflict of interest, Batman!

News from the WSJ is a "hack piece"? Come on. Is it legal? Sure. Is it coloring outside the lines for a president to be involved in this after influencing laws about crypto currency? I think so. And I would think the same if any other president were doing it.

If it is traded on an open market, above board, and transparent....I have no problem with it. Good luck to them.

To me that is much better than a bunch of these other politicians (Pelosi, Crenshaw, etc...) doing way above average on their financial trades using info that 99+% of people don't have access to.

I'm not defending the actions of Biden but can we at least acknowledge the scale of the difference here? Or can we at least acknowledge how your son selling art might be different than say taking a jet from that Qatar royal family or a crypto fraudster buying Trump coin to get a pardon? I mean we're not talking about an order of magnitude of difference here, we're talking 1,000 orders of magnitude.
