Hooooly crap. These people are wildly horrible.

For those who aren't aware, Jubilee is a YouTube channel with several formats of videos, including the "Surrounded" debate format in which one person debates a group of people one by one about various topics that the host selects. Whoever from the group volunteers and gets to the chair first gets to debate the person in the middle until they are voted out by the rest of the crowd or the time limit for the topic expires. In this case, it's Mehdi Hasan vs. 20 right-wingers, many extremely far right.

Mehdi is obnoxious and intellectually dishonest in a lot of this video, but a lot of these other people are extreme, to the point that at least one of them self-identifies as a fascist.

I think this is a good reminder that sometimes there really are crazy, radical people among the reasonable people. It's also a good time to point out that social media amplifies the most crazy and outrageous people, and these are the kinds of right-wingers that some people see the most of due to algorithms.

It's an hour watch/listen, but it's pretty illuminating.

Of course there are crazies all over the political/religion spectrum

But that video is scripted

lol.

If you're watching "far right" content on YouTube it is because it is allowed. Textbook engagement farming. This kind of stuff gets deplatformed quickly if it is not sponsored by someone aiming to make money.

There is a clear business model here.

Not today, engagement farmer.

One big difference, you don't see the crazy right nutbags burning down police departments, guarding drag queen story hour or sitting on freeways. Majority have a 40 hour work week and dig into conspiracy theories, and pretty much stay out of the way of other americans.

Either that or they carefully chose participants that they knew would spew this rhetoric

There are definitely nuts on both sides but the amount of craziness on the right isn't 1% of the insanity on the left. Not even comparable.

If you think they grabbed 20 random right wingers you are being naive. They specifically selected nutjobs and/or folks with poor debate skills. Wouldn't be surprised if a couple were paid plants too.

I'm not doubting that at all. This video doesn't claim to be about the average right-winger. It specifically says "far right" and actually delivers on that.

Do note that there have been plenty of episodes in which the crowd of debaters were all left-wingers.

Americans have forgotten the meaning of "fascist". Per Webster's definition, the Biden kingship was the closest thing to fascism America has ever experienced. Weaponizing the government against the people, fabricating foreign election interference, turning mainstream media into propaganda, imprisoning political opponents, corruption of the IRS, eliminating law enforcement, destroying border security, stealing tax dollars to fund the climate hoax, muzzling Christian churches, making food and fuel unaffordable, creating racial division, allowing the burning of our cities, sexually mutilating children, slaughtering babies up to birth, pretending Biden was competent, appointing Harris as presidential candidate…the Democrats are fascists. The guy in the video is a Democrat, not a right wing extremist.

The extremes on both sides are idiots.

The difference is that the left tolerates and defends theirs.

If you are involved in grassroots politics for a minimal amount of time, you will come to understand that there are indeed "closet cases" on either side- people whose votes, labor and support are appreciated, but don't belong anywhere near a microphone. In the age of social media, keeping them away from a microphone has become impossible.

Also you will quickly realize that the Left has 10x the closet cases as the right, and as a coalition party, is dependent/embraces their closet cases more so than the Right.

This thing is manufactured as others have said.

IN addition, the other issue is that there are no average right-wingers in the leftist world. We are ALL "far right". If you aren't a Democrat, then you are, by default, "far right" in their eyes.

Right, it's manufactured when it's not flattering.

Have you ever met actual self-described authoritarians and fascists? I have. The people in this video remind me a lot of them.

It's okay to see the ugliness on one's own side of the political spectrum and to recognize that there are fringe elements you don't have to identify with.

While there definitely crazies among every group, crazies among liberals/democrats run about 10,000 to 1 as compared to conservatives/Republicans.

Plus all the blocking traffic, protests, violence, and destroying property is pretty much all liberals/democrats.

I recognize we have some crazies - nothing like the left but we obviously have outliers. All groups do.

However, I also know that YouTube is owned by Google and is infamous for shadow banning mainstream conservatives. So the fact that this is being allowed tells me all I need to know.

This is curated propaganda until it's not.

Forgotten???

They never really knew.

At it's core, fascism is essentially socialism with a big giant military. The government owns the means of production but still allows private home ownership, ala socialism. To be honest, China is now what a mature fascist country is. They used to be wholly communist until Mao died.

Deng Xiopeng started the opening up of the country and allowed some form of capitalism, but the government stills owns every single piece of business in the country. Xi came along and has started following Mao's methods. But when Xiopeng opened up the country for a modicum of capitalism, China began their march towards fascism.

There's nothing "far right" about anything fascism has to offer, so don't Google it. Webster's is a closer.

Fascism : a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition

As usual, the Dems throw it out but have ZERO idea what the true definition is. The ONLY reason they know who Hitler was is because of WWII and the word Nazi, which means National Socialist Workers Party, which strangely enough, is dead on accurate to the Democrats.

Maybe 1% of Democrats know who Mao was, the worlds greatest murderer by a long shot. It's not even close.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

Shockingly, most conservatives are…conservatives. They aren't radical or extreme in expression and behavior. There are outliers, however, that are both extreme or reactionary and emotionally volatile or outspoken. I think the difference between conservatives and progressives right now is conservatives have remained relatively moderate and tolerant and at least understand the arguments of the left whereas the progressive left has mainstreamed radicalism in an escalating competitive cycle, and are rejecting their own moderates as apostates or traitors to the Omni-cause amalgam of leftist radical positions of presently allied social and political movements.

If right wingers want less government, then far right wants a lot less government. That does not equate to fascism.

The right needs to push back on these labels the left assigns to us.

Also, in traditional thought, the "Farthest Right" would be Anarchy. Non-Govt. No Law Rule. Essentially live under Purge. However, in modern history, the democrats have embraced the No Law Anarchy such as mostly peaceful protesting on opposite day, attacking ICE, Antifia, Trantifa, and I'm sure there are others to list.

So what is "Far Right"? Supporting Joey Chestnut on July 4th?
