The left demonstrates this every day. All you have to do is look back at their attempts at censorship over the past 5 years, and all the leftist hate/rage on social media. We got a repreive when Musk bought Twitter, but if they ever get the chance, the left will go right back to limiting free speech and severely chastising anyone that strays from the narrative.

This is so true. Phillip K. Dick was even more explicit in recognizing how powerful the left's use of what Orwell termed "New Speak" is used to control society e.g. "What is a Woman?"

What Newspeak really is, for the few here that may not have read 1984, is a reductionist directive by authoritarians to reduce the vocabulary. From wiki:

The purpose is to eliminate words that could be used to formulate thoughts of rebellion, non-conformity, individuality, etc. It is very observable in today's society if you are sensitive to it. You can REALLY see it in social media and texting shortcutting where brevity is required to capture attention.

They were attempting to change the definition of the word Truth by championing the "my truth" vs "your truth" argument. Misinformation vs Disinformation etc.

I never actually thought the democrat party would take chapters from 1984, and use them as a manual for how to govern...but they did.
