I don't know, the Mexican contractors I've worked with are rightfully scared but also understand that things like the stuff in Grapevine with the Venezuelans and the countless other senseless death and crime is what is causing this. They know the Republicans didn't bring them in and cause real problems for them. They also remember Obama deported more people than anyone. Laborers coming up from south of Mexico are undercutting their prices which is pissing them off too. They don't like that at all. The way they describe it, there's an American price, a Mexican price and then everyone south of them going as cheap as possible. TPO roofs for example, $120 a square for a Mexican crew, $85 a square for a Guatemalan crew.

Mexicans are not fans of the border being flooded, its why you saw the big uptick towards Trump. I think their goal is to make it if they can until all the South Americans they can get have been deported and hope a law is passed for work visas. They don't want to risk going back to go through the process and hope they get a work permit. A law should be passed to make it easier for Mexican citizens to get work visas.

Wish we would deport that city councilman while we were at it.

I'm not supporting the party platform but Henry Cuellar down on south Texas border that supports immigration laws. But he's an outlier in his party.
