I wouldn't count those chickens yet on the 'bringing Russia and Ukraine to the table'. The European allies this morning rejected Putin's stalling tactic for 'direct talks' and are demanding the immediate unconditional ceasefire first before any talks. But the Russians the past few months have shown no desire for a ceasefire so there is still a game of chicken being played here.

Putin will either have to agree to the unconditional ceasefire pretty soon or Trump is going to be backed into a corner supporting the Allies with more stick approach versus Vladimir.

And although Trump admin has threatened they would 'walk away' from Ukraine, signs instead point to Trump not wanting a 'Fall of Saigon' embarrassment to happen over there while he is in office.

But Russia has been demanding not only keep alll occupied land and no Ukraine in NATO, but also a DISARMED Ukraine with no peace keeping forces. Basically demanding Ukraine be a sitting duck for future Russian attacks which Ukraine and the West will never agree to. Very difficult knot to untie.

1 and 2 are true. But with the makeup of the group that doles out these awards, I just don't see 3 ever happening. Trump could cure cancer in the morning and broker a lasting peace in the Middle East over Big Macs for lunch, and the day would end with cries of "Nazi", "fascist", or what-have-you.

Whether Obama deserved NPP debate aside, and recognizing his mistakes, I do give him lots of credit specifically for the Kill Bin Laden raid in 2011. Have read several first hand accounts of the planning and execution of that raid and even from operators who disagreed with his politics, they all praised his decision making in that matter, the guts to make the call, and how he prioritized not only making sure the SEALS got everything they asked for to kill Bin Laden but also to make sure they got home.

His Bin Laden decision aside, there is no debate here. He didn't deserve it when he got it. The Nobel group has literally said he was awarded it based on his skin color and "potential" he brought to the office.

It's a meaningless award just like our own Presidential Medal of Freedom award is now meaningless. Both awards are political favors.
