Q: What's the biggest mistake you made in the first 100 days?

A: I'll tell ya, that's the toughest question I could have, because I don't really believe I've made any mistakes. We're in a transition period. I think you're going to see tremendous economic victories over the next period of a year. Like far greater than ever imagined.

Do you think Trump has made any mistakes in the first 100 days?

I think the across-the-board 'Liberation Day' tariffs should have been more like strategic bombing rather than carpet bombing.

LOL, of course he doesn't think he has.

Yes, he has. Several of his picks were mistakes. His idiotic tariffs....big mistake.

Now, conversely, his actions on immigration are nails. Most of his appointments have been pretty solid, too.

I think you are going to look back on the moves made with the tariffs and refer to them as anything but idiotic.

I make mistakes all of the time, and don't try to say otherwise. But, then, I'm not a narcissist like he is and most other pols are.

He's a human being. He makes mistakes. Problem is that if he says this or that is a mistake, people jump all over that. Just look at corrections made or changes made. That will signify mistakes or a repurposing.

Trump probably believes he's never made a mistake in his life. And if he does, he would never admit it.

It is a difficult discussion to get in front of the voters. It's being framed too simple as getting fair deals with China and the rest of the world. I tend to believe it is really

1) a real economic war to reduce the financial capabilities of China because of their aggressive geo-political moves over the last 20 years
2) a way to diminish the power and influence of the hyper-wealthy class who do not have the same goals or desires as Joe Citizen
3) an attempt to pass the unpayable national debt in financial terms back onto the rest of the world - hopefully someone more versed in finance can explain it but I skimmed over an article about this I found very interesting

What is the benefit to Trump admitting mistakes?

Will it make MSM treat him fair or criticize him less?

Will it make never trumpers and TDS sufferers have a change of heart?

Will it help him work better with Congress?

Will judges suddenly rule on the law and not on their hate if he just admitted a mistake?

Would he suddenly be a better Christian if he admitted his mistake publicly v to God?

I see nothing positive with Trump taking a new tack of "mea culpa".

Obviously, Trump would never admit to a mistake other than maybe trying to hard but then again, how many Presidents admit to mistakes? Not many in the last 40-50 years.

Ideally the Trump tariffs will only hurt in the short run, but in the long will pay off. Would the average person suffer some quick pain then be happy or have a lingering pain dragged out for 4 years like if Kamala was elected?

How many mistakes did Obama own up to?

Has Biden owned up to one?

Hell, Kamala said she would not change one thing about how the Biden admin handled things… which includes the earth of 13 service members, maiming of countless other soldiers, and death and injuries to many Afghanis.

But Trump is supposed to have a Presidential Daily Confessional to help TDS sufferers cope.

i think trump has earned the right to be given time to see if what he says is true. many a time people have passed judgement on trump quotes and actions and time has proven him right time and time again.

This.

The OP was strangely silent over the 4 years of Biden's multiple mistakes, and the owning up to NONE of them.

Rocks are apparently only to be thrown at a Republican POTUS. Never a Democrat.

And to answer the OP's slanted question...

Yes, Trump has made some mistakes. EVERY person does. But so far, none are of true consequence. Even his tactics on tariffs have a reasoning behind them in which time will tell whether there will be a payoff to the tactics.

Yes, he "carpet bombed". But immediately he was able to tell who was willing to come to the the table to negotiate, and who was not. And subsequently adjusted the tarriffs accordingly. Plus, he go the added bonus of isolating China from the rest of the world. In effect, Trump forced the world to choose sides... and they did.

I think that the rollout was crap.

I do think that there is a great chance that the end result will be good. But, 4/2 was a disaster.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

You don't hear the media asking libs these kind of questions when they're in office. It's meant to project weakness and give them bait to write articles about Trump even admitting he's been wrong.

They did ask Kamala this question when she lost the election. Even though her campaign was complete garbage, she said she wouldn't change a thing.

Trump just thinks the ends justify the means. As long as he's successful at the end then everything, good and bad, was worth it.

He doesn't believe he made any mistakes, but never says "I have made no mistakes."

Trump will probably acknowledge he has made a mistake, but specific examples need to be discussed, and the metrics used to measure what is/isn't a mistake need to be debated. Otherwise the discussion is too general, and there's nothing wrong with saying "I don't believe I have."

That's about par for the course with regards to how leftists on here spin for biden, or obama policies.

Tarrifs, I agree

Tariffs, no, it's not. They're bad policy. But let's not diverge from the topic of his mistakes, or not.

This is the real answer.

Remember headline like this a few weeks ago?

"Trump administration admits it wrongly deported man to prison in El Salvador" -The Hill

Any admission of a 'mistake' is going to catapult the campaigns against him. Better to just say no mistakes were made. Everyone think he is he's a truth stretching narcissist already so having his critics bleating about that will amount to nothing. There is too much risk in admitting a mistake by having it gain some kind of traction in the American mindset.
