I assumed it to be the case 2 years ago when Colony Ridge became a talking point. Would be great if this tanks his chance at ever running again (or is he already out of terms?).

Why can't we have real primaries to look for alternatives? It's gross how we have a few R's running this State however they want and are left completely unchecked.

Agree. I distinctly remember driving and listening to the news he was shutting down public schools for the rest of the 2020 school year with my then 4th grader sobbing in the back seat. I told myself then that the first chance I had to vote against him in a primary, I would. And I did. He doesn't lead. He tests with focus groups and his big donors to decide our futures.

Nothing in that gotcha story of tweets contradicts exactly what Abbot said happened? The developer pushed for a opportunity zone, Abbot did so as well, builder donated to campaign during all this. Thats pretty much standard government business. After approvals, developer then turned it into a 3rd world illegal mexican ****hole? Nothing shows he pitched building an illegals mecca to Abbot.

If this is true, I hope Republican primary voters wake up and vote out Greg Abbott.

I still give a little bit of grace to leaders during the beginnings of covid. Remember we have the benefit of hindsight. They didn't know what was happening at first. But Abbott could've definitely opened things up faster. He doesn't have the conviction in his beliefs DeSantis does.

Once dems figure out they can flip the governorship just by putting forth a candidate who isn't a complete psycho, they're well on their way to flipping the rest of Texas blue. But they just keep catering to the extreme left nut jobs because they're the ones that scream the loudest. I take some satisfaction in knowing they keep dooming their own party with their insane screeching, but I gotta think EVENTUALLY they'll wise up.

So, two governors? I'll give you a third with DeSantis.

Abbot was horrible, using power given to him by the Texas Constitution, which hasn't been amended to prevent this in the future. Paxton had no legal basis to not let him.

The actual legal basis was cited at least a few times, on here, during covid. Putting your fingers in your ears doesn't change the facts.

More bad news...
Wouldn't surprise me to see him run for Senator, since his path to the White House is not happening anytime soon. Can he be worse than cornin??? Does he know how to cook brisket? Just a heads up so you don't have an aneurysm.
