The Medium article says transport aircraft have already landed there along with high level CIA. Supposedly there working to help eliminate ISIS-K.

The guy who tweeted this out saying he has confirmed with government officials is a right wing bro podcast guy but doesn't come across as a complete hack. He's had a lot of military on the podcast before.

I was always for our withdrawal from Afghanistan EXCEPT for control of that base. So pretty much the levels we were at by Trump's first presidency. Keep that base and keep enough assets there to defend it and fun intelligence out of there throughout the region. Let the ANA handle most of the door kicking.

Medium published this story two days ago. You would think some other media outlet would have picked it and ran with it by now. Until verification I say BS.

It's plausible because Trump himself has said we should have kept that airbase, and that was in his plans, due to its strategic location, at minimum as a strategic check on china.

There was an episode of The Shawn Ryan show where this was discussed.

Weapons and other things are purchased from defense contractors who funnel money to politicians. Defense contractors and politicians are both happy.
