I saw this video earlier and I was fooled. I spent a few minutes admiring Scarlett. What a hot woman. Though she did seem younger and more feminine and hot in the video compared to her recent pictures with her terrible short hair.

Then I find out that the video was an AI fake! Something needs to be done (not sure what), this can get dangerous.

I agree with her that it should be illegal to fake people doing actions they did not actually do!

Think of the progression of the tech in just the last two years. We used to laugh at the weird misshapen hands. Now look at what is capable. Think of what is going to happen in the next five. It's downright dystopian IMO. We already have AI work that can only really be consistently detected by other AI fi enough time is spent on it.

How about we approach all digital media the same way we do movies. Understand that most of it is fake. Trust what you see in person. It's not going to get any better. And the last thing we need is govt deciding what is and isn't acceptable in terms of digital media.

Well considering that I would assume most people consume the absolute vast majority of their news and politics via digital means, this is quite concerning.

I can't remember the last time I even saw a politician in real life. Gotta be Bush Jr. in '06 I believe?

We'll eventually use as much AI compute power to DETECT AI use as we use on all other AI purposes. My prediction unless something is done.

Not a bad approach. The real issue is going to be with video/photos. Going forward they won't be any real persuasive thing in politics or crime. Now the detective world has an out --they need only almost literally go back to the Sherlock Holmes /Scotland Yard of 19th C era. Case solving and detective work was not dependent on photos or recordings.

Politics may go more the route Bill Clinton showed- --- shamlessness the best answer for blackmail. No blackmail will be assumed legitimate anymore.

Have said for a while this generation will be the last to know for sure what was real video wise, and mine the last to know with photos because the switchover pre-dates the ability to have faked or even created them.

19th Century may offer guidance in many areas -- the over-saturation era may end up with the same effect as not having any of it.
