I use Wikipedia every day. It is probably my most visited website other than Texags.

I started noticing the bias in some areas maybe 4-5 years ago. But it is fairly limited and not well hidden at all.

I like the idea behind Wiki and hope that it benefits from MAGA and gets it back on course. I bet it does. Wiki has a wealth of well organized Information that is invaluable and should be saved not destroyed. Would love to see a right wing takeover of Wiki.

The donations to the Wiki Media Foundation exceed what is needed to run the servers and keep the Wikipedia pages running, and the excess goes to what we might expect from Silicon Valley - woke programs like DEI. But anybody can edit a Wiki article. So if a particular article displays a certain bias it's because a number of people endorse that point of view and they cite sources that support that point of view. So if you are looking at an article in say something like George Floyd, you will see a lot of woke stupidity. But most topics can be viewed as honest assessments.

Anytime I visit Wikipedia, they are begging for donations. I simply X out of that pop up, ready what I need, and go on about my day. Hope those who donate feel good that their money is being laundered

Anyone can TRY to edit wiki, I tried to correct some misconceptions on A&M traditions that were inserted by some bu grad that "knew" an Aggie and was therefore an expert on A&M.

I experienced the insane, leftist wrath of Wikipedia the one time I tried to create a Wikipedia page for my kids private Christian school. I used another existing school's page as a template and then swapped out the information to reflect our school. The next time I tried to visit the page, it was deleted and I got a hostile message from an obese LGBT activist moderator threatening to ban me from Wikipedia. Everything I posted was straight forward, factual info about the school (address, contact info, grades served, etc.). It was pretty clear that what he was really mad about was that it was a Christian school. This was about the time we had other episodes of LGBT people having public freakouts towards school kids and parents in the news. Anyway, they now beg me for donations everytime I look something up on Wikipedia, but they can go out of business as far as I'm concerned.

Glad to help. I have been in your shoes multiple times where somebody here on TexAgs posted something I was completely unaware of. I was very glad I then knew what the real deal was!!!!

Those jerks are always begging for donations, yet they throw away a huge chunk on crap that does nothing for their content.

I stopped donating (minuscule amount to be sure, but still every bit helps) years ago when it became clear that the content was being written, edited and moderated to fit the leftist agenda.

It's sure be nice to have an equivalent worth zero slant in either direction. Just the damn facts!

Nothing to add except that I love Wikipedia and often find one subject leading me to another and another, mostly history related. Reminds me of my days as a young kid reading our set of World Book encyclopedias, only this is much easier.

That quote just shows how much we need to defund NPR too.

As long as wikipedia still lets you do "early life check" it is based and not woke
