Almost $40 trillion in debt with interest on the debt now more than defense and approaching SS.

Move brings total in student loan forgiveness during Joe Biden's term as president to $180bn, Education Department says.

Public Service Loan forgiveness has nothing to do with Brandon and would have happened regardless as to who was in the Oval Office. PSLF program was signed into law under GWB. Dems just trying to take credit for something that's not theirs (as per usual).

It will continue to happen every year for the individuals who honor the terms of the loan agreement unless repealed by congress.

Has any of that actually made it through? Hasn't most of it been stopped by the courts?

Pslf has been around for more than a decade, and is in the mpn that all borrowers signed. Believe it was put in under a republican president, and every lender knew this was coming.

It's part of the loan repayment agreement, not some new thing. It's Republicans and democrats squealing to distract us from the accelerating disaster economically

PSLF is actually law and has been for decades. It's not a Potatus executive scam attempt like most of the rest of recent loan forgiveness schemes. The courts are irrelevant on this particular matter.

Despite impressions otherwise, they have always been a bit more truthful than our MSM on such things. Even their reporting on ME events is not as "pravda-like" as one might expect. Mostly because the Mid-East is not just one country and pov.

I'm sure the same people who post these threads seemingly every month will continue to do so when Trump is in office. I'm sure they'll put Trump in the same bad light when they make these threads as well. [/sarcasm to the Nth]

Biden loosened the rules on the program significantly and thus has forgiven way more than would have been. Trump will change that hopefully.

... but we need to "survive" until at least 62.5 years old in order to be privileged enough to start collecting social security bennies.

While these student loan recipient deadbeats get rained on by the Treasury.

All he did was start approving the ones that SHOULD have been approved for years. Trump order devos to sandbag approving them, but he was just failing to follow the law.

I hate Biden, but this is not a biden eff up

Not true. He did stuff like count full time as only 30 hours, allowed non qualifying loans to be included, etc... None of that is in the text.

30 hours is considered "full time" in pretty much every other legal context, like taxes and employment law. Employers considered and were certifying these folks as full time, employees thought they were considered full time. They handled taxes and benefits and all that as if they were in full time employer-employee relationships.

Trump came in, after the fact for the most part, and told folks "for this purpose only, no, you weren't working full time."

Wrong. The qualification was to meet the employer's definition of full time, or 30 hours, whichever was larger. Biden changed it to simply be 30 hours or greater. It's getting reset soon, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Another $1.2 billion to Ukraine and a billion to Ecuador.

They simply can't dole out money fast enough.

Should have brought in a professional money doler like Kenneth Feinberg months ago but they waited till finals week.

To be fair, what's the likelihood we see the media writing reports about Trump doing this? If so, then yeah...you'll probably see a thread. But I wouldnt hold your breath.
