If you are planning on dropping a few hundred dollars for a Gucci rotomolded ice chest, I recommend Canyon Coolers. I met the owner at SHOT Show a few years ago. Their coolers are great quality with really nice features.

I like the design of patriot coolers much better anyway. Rotomolded but much lighter and roomier. Texas based company and a portion of every purchase is donated to Homes For Our Troops.

I'll still buy a styrofoam cooler. They work great, and are much cheaper! Someone else can pay $100, $200 or $300 for a fancy cooler.

Yeti coolers are dumb. If you just need them to keep drinks cool for a night or maybe a day or two, then a cheap Igloo will work just fine. Also, if you're going into the wilderness for an extended period of time, it would be great to have cold drinks for an extended period, but the ice chests are way too heavy to be practical.

You guys remember Brian Williams? I saw a clip of him, post election, and he had some very insightful analysis.

RTIC headquarters is in Cypress. They have a huge store there on 290 and Huffmeister, and another one on Clay off of 99.

I use my RTIC twice a year. Dove hunting and a week long trip to Galveston. It keeps my beer and sodas ice cold in the back of my truck in the blistering heat. I will knock down some beer on those trips and I want them as close to 32 degrees as possible when I take one out. I don't want to replace bags of ice twice a day. It's worth the $250 I paid for it.
