I live close to Athens and have a daughter heading to college in the fall. This case is way too close to home.

The amount of strength that Laken Riley's friends & family has to sit in the same room with that monster is immeasurable. At least the judge got it right. Guilty on all accounts. Sentencing is next.

no matter the punishment there is no world where i could contain myself. i would be arrested in the court room jumping over the chairs just to get a shot at that POS. yeah i would be one of those guys.

I think i heard the current (but outgoing?) DA is adamantly anti-death penalty and refuses to put it on the table even when state law allows for it.

In my fantasy world, we would take the worst of the worst of illegal immigrant offenders...fly them in groups to the major capital city of their country of origin, and just push them allout of planes/helicopters so that they fall into the middle of downtown Mexico City, Caracas, Tegulcigapa, San Salvador etc etc. on a business day. Make a spectacle of it. Strike fear into the hearts and minds.

That's a special kind of evil to put her family through a trial rather than using the death penalty to get a plea.

I'd be tempted to rip into the prosecution in my victim impact statement.
