While I don't always agree with Mr. Carville, IMHO he is 100% correct in in his assertion that VP Harris sunk her own ship on "The View" when asked the question of what you would do differently that the present administration.

A question you have to know was coming. And she froze. Before saying that she could think of nothing she would do differently.

I remember seeing the video of this exchange on "Gutfeld" that night and turning to my wife to say she just blew it. Especially for all of the American voters who listed the Economy as their number one issue.

It really is astonishing how bad a candidate she was. The simplest, most obvious questions from friendly "media" made her freeze up or spit out "word salad" non-responses. Trump really did get lucky with her as an opponent. It's like how the Longhorns continue facing every other opponent's backup QB.

That was her opportunity to say ANYTHING and there would be no way to fact check her. She could have said "I would have implemented price controls to make groceries more affordable. I would have imposed a higher tax rate on the wealthy to make them pay their fair share. I would have brokered a peace deal with Ukraine and Russia."

Even the response she chose could have been better. She could have said "Joe and I were in lock-step on every important decision for this country and I stand by it." Instead she chose what an air head on a game show says "I can't think of anything."

I manage a commercial team in my career. The people on my team often have to deal with difficult questions regarding business items with our customers. One of the things we do a lot (even though people hate it) is role-plays. It's a good way to collect your thoughts prior to having to give an answer to a tough question.

What's more shocking about this is not the answer to the question about what you would have done differently: "nothing comes to mind."

Rather, it's shocking that this question wasn't planned for and rehearsed prior. A VP running for president is going to get asked "what's something you would have done differently than the president?"

Had the Harris "handlers" not come up with a canned answer for this?

She never would have been the candidate if the primary had been held.

That reason alone requires that there should be some sort of investigation into when people knew that Biden was not capable of running for President, specifically when she knew.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

It simply proves her team, who she apparently constantly berates, is as vacuous as she is. They HAD to know that question was coming just like they had to expect Bret Baier to ask "65% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track, what is your answer to them?" Her response...."Donald Trump." Amazing.

They probably did. Either she forgot her canned response or refused to follow their advice...or both.

She had a pretty good team in Dillon and Plouffe but I think she believed she knew better and ignored them. Plus, she's never been that fast on her feet.

Biggest mistake was Biden to pick her. Since they cheated to win, he didnt need her, and Dem leaders were thinking DEI rather than who would replace their demented candidate.

That moment was almost as bad as Teddy Kennedy being asked why he should be president and then freezing and literally having no answer. He was already damaged goods but that killed any chance of him getting a shot.

They black balled the journalist that asked the question after that, destroyed his upward mobility when it should have done the opposite.

There's no answer she could have given that would have made her win. Or kept her from losing.

This is a really good point. She could have had 10 or 15 answers that would have made people feel more comfortable about voting for her. It was a target-rich environment.

Instead, all she could come up with is "nothing".

Weeks earlier, someone asked her a question about "yo. Only 21% of Americans think the country is on the right track. That's bad. What would you say to those people that think we are not on the right track?" and she had a similar non-answer.

How her team didn't help her come up with a canned response to this by a favorable audience, I have no idea.

Must have been making tik tok videos instead.

My conspiracy theory is the radical left needed a sacrifice but wanted to make some money on the way down. So they trotted out a functional ****** to impose a money laundering scheme.

They will stay quiet for a bit but will come back with full force to brain wash their lemmings to push their agenda further left in order to destroy the middle class and the nuclear family on their goal for socialism.

They were desperately trying to simultaneously portray her as an experienced stateswoman but also not as an incumbent to an extremely unpopular presidency

That was the moment she admitted that a Harris presidency would be exactly what we all knew it would be: 4-8 more years of a figure head puppet presidency while the same shadowy cabal of unelected democrats continued the same highly unpopular policies of the Biden era

Reading the thread, it seems most everyone has the same thought. She wad not prepared for THE most obvious question, especially given the current public sentiment towards the Biden administration and the direction of the country.

I don't know how smart she is but I do suspect she doesn't think well on her feet. Not being able to think on her feet is likely the cause of the word salads. She has to say something and since she can't formulate a proper response, she rambles and repeats herself, mostly nonsensical stuff.

But this was something she had to have anticipated, or at least her handlers had to anticipate and prepare her to deal with. Yet she couldn't even give a non-answer answer. Most politicians would have said something along the lines of "Of course, as times and situations change, my responses will change in a manner consistent with dealing with the problem."

If a follow up question or questions pertained to the economy, the border, inflation, etc., the she should have had a non-answer answer to those. She could say "progress has been made (even if it hasn't, the media would let her skirt on saying that) on (whether being asked about the economy, border, inflation) and we will continue to focus on this and tweak things as we go along. We are making headway but more needs to be done and will be."

But to reply like she did was terrible. Almost as if she didn't want to say anything that would be construed as negative toward biden.

The answer she gave may have actually been an honest answer. How many good economic ideas have we actually seen from the Democrat side in the last 10-20 yrs?

Kamala is overly cautious and highly risk adverse.

She didn't understand the leverage of her moment. She could have **** on Biden AND Obama in ways specifically helpful to her and she just couldn't steel the nerve to go there.

But according to MSNBC and The View, Kamala ran a flawless campaign. She did nothing wrong and the only reason she didn't win was there is something wrong with all of the people that refused to vote for her.

Babylon Bee has a breakdown of how Kamala spent a billion dollars.

LINK

Some tidbits:

Quote:

  • $70 million for accent coaches: In retrospect, probably shouldn't have used Foghorn Leghorn.
  • $500,000 for Lizzo's catering: That's a lot of hoagies.

Quote:

  • $10 million for NFL coaches to try to teach Walz how to talk about football: Must have been the Jets' coach.

Quote:

  • $37.50 for speechwriter: Yeah, this checks out.
  • $19 million for filming that gross commercial where an old Republican man tells some kid he can't watch porn: We don't want to talk about it.

Quote:

  • $5 million for Doritos: Those gas station chips are pricey.
  • $500 for coloring books to keep Joe Biden busy: Honestly, really should have set aside more for this.
  • $600 million on wine: That's on boxed wine, people. Boxed!
  • $30 million for the rights for Tim Walz to sing "Single Ladies" at rallies: Totally worth it.
  • $500,000 on punching bags for Doug Emhoff: Ouch.

Again, this is Babylon Bee.

I think her biggest failure is she didn't know what she stood for or why she was qualified to be the next president, and it showed every time she had to speak off-script.

She has negligible political skills and has yet to exhibit the intellectual curiosity to understand the issues of the day. Plus nobody really likes her. Otherwise, she was a great candidate.
