If Republicans get 52+ seats in the US Senate, I don't care what happens in the presidential race.

Control of the US Senate and a 6-3 Supreme Court majority is good enough to stop Kamala's legislative agenda, judicial appointments, executive branch appointments, and unconstitutional executive orders.

The presidential race is still the most important one because (a) the Senate can't stop a nuclear war, and (b) the Senate still would be relying even on nominations on the votes of people like Murkowski and Collins (plus at least a dozen more weak spineless rhino's). It doesn't even pass first muster to rely on the likes of John Cornyn's leadership to stop a Democrat president/possibly House.

The executive branch is key to reeling in or at least attenuating the growth of censorship, lawfare/lawlessness, police state tendencies, and the actual invasion of our nation.

That was because Mitch followed the Biden rule about nominations during a presidential election cycle where control of the senate was in the opposite party's hands. Would have zero reason not to bring a nominee to the floor just because, in 2025-2027.

The thing is that once you have the pure majority which means 51 Senators you control everything.

Nothing comes to the floor unless the Republican majority leader decides it comes to the floor.

If the new Republican leader (either John Cornyn or Rick Scott probably) decides to bring nothing to the floor for two years they can bring nothing to the floor for two years.

It will be the Republicans choice.

Collins and Murkowski do not matter because if the Republicans lose the presidential then all they need is 51 to block legislation, judicial appointments, and executive appointments.

Collins and Murkowski cannot take liberal votes on judicial appointments, or legislation if those judicial appointments and legislation cannot come to the floor.

The Supreme Court and the federal judiciary is the last institution that Republicans/conservatives still control in the United States.

Nothing will be coming the floor. They are not going to give the Democrats the only institution that the Democrats do not control right now.
