According to KISS 1031 (apparently in Temple), drug dealers will put fruit on gas pumps and keep watch If you pick it up, they will interpret that as a signal that you would like to buy drugs!

100% true. the drug dealers also drive around with their headlights off, and if you flash your lights at them they will chase you down and force you to do drugs.

In an odd twist...Fruit vendors will put drugs on the gas pumps. If you take the drugs, they take that as a sign you'd like a peach, or pear.

It baffles me that there are people finding things like fruit, in places they shouldn't be, and thinking "man, that's wierd, I should pick it up and look at it ."

People really do that? Maybe I'm just a cyclical paranoid but inspecting a fruit on a gas pump wouldn't even enter my mind. Also calling bullcrap on the story.

If I see a piece of fruit at a gas pump, I will pick it up with a napkin and throw it in the trash can that is next to the gas pump. I hope a drug dealer is watching. That's ****ing stupid.

Years ago that was often claimed about Halloween candy. The only thing I could ever find back then that would support that was an article on x-raying Halloween candy back then in a medical journal.

Are different fruits for different types of drugs? How does the dealer know what you are "requesting"? Plus, some rando starts walking up to me at the pump and I'm usually going back inside my car to get my, uh, peanuts.

This isn't quite as laughable as the ol' "AIDS needles on movie theater seats" deal, but we're getting there.
