See attached breakdown by Shane Smith on how the libertarian party was infiltrated and effectively destroyed from the inside by woke leftists. The destruction culminated in the madness that was the national convention. Trump was shouted down by a bunch of weirdos, and a trans the kids open boarders candidate was ultimately nominated.
It is just another example of just how quickly the cancer can spread.

Libertarianism, while great in theory, is too diverse and fragmented an ideal for it to work as a cohesive political party.

At one time, I was thinking about going to Libertarian party meetings and whatnot, but I'm glad I didn't. I wouldn't want that to stain my reputation forever. It would be like being a surviving Branch Davidian. No matter what you do, you will always go down as a one of those whackos.

I agree that there are a bunch of nuts in the libertarian party. However these seem to be straight up woke leftists. The same cancer that had consumed many other institutions.

They used to be a little more seriously libertarian. Now they really have been subverted by a portion of lunatic leftist infiltrators and subverted by single issue social liberals that are willing to be authoritarian leftists on other issues.

Libertarianism only makes a little bit of sense if you have a homogenous culture with strong shared morals. In the US, it's an absolute joke.

I went to meetings more than 30 years ago. Sad state of affairs and talk about cringy freaks. I don't want denigrate those with special needs but the libertarian meetings had quite the spectrum of special needs characters.

I know he's not for everyone, but Dave Smith ( and Angela McArdle) tried their dardest to make it be an Austrian Economics, strong border, weak spending, non-interventionalist, pro-life group.

They just got outvoted by the wackos when they teamed up.

If you listen to the majority of Smith's podcasts (outside of Israel/Palestine…. He's way too forgiving of Palestines's inability to govern themselves) he lines up with this board 80% of the time.
