Seems to be a pretty standard response by protestors to the media. Almost seems like they were trained to say this. Also probably means they have no independent thinking or knowledge of what is really going on.

Most protestors, regardless of what side they're on, have only enough information to spew a few talking points. Once you go deeper than that they're useless. Well, to converse with they're useless, to the ones who got them riled up enough to protests, they're the perfect tools for their puppet masters.
