Are people in CA so fed up that they'd put a Republican in the Senate? I know this is primary and all, but damn that's got to pucker some buttholes amongst the dems.

It's a jungle primary. There were multiple Democrats in the primary with name recognition. If you add up all the Democrat votes he's way behind.

Schiff is going to win general by 10 points or more.

The GOP is not going to put money into this one nor will they put money to back any moderate/winnable candidates in more moderate areas. They will worship Trump or get no money.

Top two vote getters appear on the November ballot. Garvey is the lone Republican and has 32%. The Democratic vote was split between Schiff, Porter, and Lee.

The "surprise" here is really that Porter did so poorly. People expected a better showing out of her.

Yep. The rule should be that if your vote has not been received at Midnight the day before the election ( the day the polls are open), the vote will NOT be counted. This will virtually eliminate all the last minute ballot stuffing.

There were two other prominent Dems in the field, splitting the Dem vote with Schiff.

Campaign finance records indicate that a Schiff-related PAC spent millions promoting Garvey, as a way to get him into the top two, rather than one of the other Dems. LA Times

The last Dem was elected to statewide office in Texas in 1994.

The last Republican was elected to statewide office in California (The Terminator) in 2007.

So California has gone GOP more recently than Texas has gone Dem.

I'm old enough to remember when Garvey played.

This needs to happen.

Schiff is POS in every way. Creepy MF, evil, traitorous and gross. He is a poster child for term limits.

Democrats from Governor dork hair just ruining California.

Sadly, I think he can still keep his House seat.

Not sure what the date/issue was in the West Virginia settlement. I would like to see any and all dirt tossed at Schiff.

Spent several weeks in California over the last year. Those folks live in an alternate reality. Met some good folks, but they are so steeped in that culture and without grounding to a meaningful foundation that they can't think straight.
