build = destroy our current morals and values
educate = embrace new woke values
inspire = and you'll like it
committed to Army values = get rid of anyone who doesn't like the new order

I read it and don't think it's the end of the world. The memo even says "Duty, Honor, Country" weren't added until 1998. At least it's not some woke mission statement. Way far greater things to gripe about than this in my opinion.

Next they will change the honor code, so that the west point cadets and grads can follow orders from Joe Biden.

Duty, Honor, Country is foundational to the United States Military Academy's culture and will always remain our motto. It defines who we are as an institution and as graduates of West Point. These three hallowed words are the hallmark of the cadet experience and bind the Long Gray Line together across our great history.

...

In the past century, West Point's mission has changed nine times. Many graduates will recall the mission statement they learned as new cadets did not include the motto, as Duty, Honor, Country was first added to the mission statement in 1998.

Oh noes. Everyone panic.

They can certainly try, but the military would be decimated in the process.

Why not for the graduated and commissioned a Marxist a few years ago that the academy administration were aware of.

No telling how many more are being commissioned with the blessings of the current administration.

They need to remove "a service of lifetime". Over 65% get out before the twenty year retirement timeline. Another area our congressional leaders miss the target in their recommendations.

Duty, Honor, Country while adopted in the late 90's has been around for over a century. Even the title of a very famous speech. This is the equivalent of taking the black beret away from the rangers by that idiot shinseki.

But the question is why? Why replace Duty, Honor, Country with the nebulous Army Values. Especially now. In the best case, it is a very tone-deaf move.

I guess you could read anything you want into those innocuous terms, just as anyone could with the current ones.

The real test is if the actual education and experience of the military academy changes. If it doesn't, then these are just words.

I think its way too early to read anything more into it.

They did not "boot" him. He was allowed to graduate and receive a commission. It was after it was reported and a backlash ensued that the Army finally got rid of him.

And now, with the current administratiosn, more like him are graduated and receiving commissions.
