Macy's in Union Square is closing. This is part of a bigger reduction, but no surprise the San Fran location would be in the list. Been there since 1947.

From the San Francisco Chronicle:

"San Francisco Macy's to close in devastating blow to downtown

Around 400 employees work at the Macy's, according to their union, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 5."

it is shocking that anyone would double down in light of the factual data coming in on liberal decisions and yet you know they will.

at some point in time people are going to actually come to the conclusion this is all being done on purpose. what else explains this stupidity.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

I think a lot of people on the left are delusional. Others are evil and want control. Others are dumb and gullible. So you have this odd insane cocktail that makes up the left.

Elections have consequences.
“My philopsophy is this: Its none of my business what people say of me or think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier." ~ Sir Anthony Hopkins

Let's see -

High taxation
Decriminalize theft
Enable homeless and drug users to line the streets
Defund police
Shut businesses down during Covid and beyond
Rolling blackouts
Severe over regulation that drives both costs and prices through the roof
Union leaders and mandates
Make firearms ownership as difficult as possible - except for the criminals
Penalize and sue companies that don't follow the leftist agenda
Antagonize and impune successful business owners

And the Democrats and their idiot minions that have run that place for decades wonder why individuals and companies are abandoning them like rats off a sinking ship.

They're getting exactly what they asked for.

It's all scripted. Once the prime real estate prices drop low enough, the right people will buy it all up, then, magically, the riff-raff are all bussed beyond the rainbow as the storm clouds clear.

I think these new Democrats are true believers. They don't vote with their pocketbook anymore. We've entered a new dimension. Think of it as the Dark Ages Part II.

there was a local chain called Bon Marche that was equivalent to Macy's in the NW (we did not have Macy's in Seattle when I moved here in 2000. Pretty sure they were not here before 2005/2006 when Macy's bought them out.

Fantastic store to shop at - had upscale and trendy clothing by all the big names at good prices, so something that worked for everyone. Then Macy's bought them out in the mid 2000s and they went to
