BELOW…..FROM A SOURCE: (a clear recap and detailed explanation of something I exposed in the last election of a PAC many sitting Bryan city council members and mayor are utilizing. There was also a school board member under this PAC. Which I thought running for a school board and using a PAC was illegal because school board is not a political office …and btw, that's a sitting school board member)

THANK YOU TO ALL MY SOURCES

"This is CRAZY!!!

As someone pointed out on the Texags thread awhile back... Bobby Gutierrez formed a Political Action Committee called Partners for a Better Bryan and serves as the treasurer. On 10/6/2022, a $10,000 donation was made to the PAC from Jose Augusto Schincariol, a BRAZILIAN. Then, on 10/29/2022, Bobby Gutierrez contributed $10,000 from the PAC to fund his mayoral campaign.

It makes you wonder why a citizen of Brazil would have any interest in donating to a PAC in Bryan, Texas. It went unanswered so I did a little research.

In 2012 Jose Augusto Schincariol was #43 on the Forbes list of the richest people in Brazil. He is the owner of Magic Developments and Strategic Armory Corps. His FB shows he lives in Brazil and is a citizen of Brazil (unless he now has a green card). This is important because it is illegal for a non-US citizen to donate to a PAC in the US. (If he has a green card, it's legal.)

I recently came across this news article and made the connection.

Jose Augusto Schincariol plans to move his firearms manufacturing headquarters to Bryan! If that's not shady, I don't know what is!!!! Someone from KBTX should have asked the mayor why Jose Augusto Schincariol donated $10,000 to his PAC. And why did he use $10,000 from the PAC to fund his own campaign. lol

I wasn't sure what to do with this information so I thought I'd share it with you.

WOW--Inquiring minds want to know:

Who has contributed to this Political Action Committee?

What current local candidates have accepted contributions from this group, or individual members of this PAC?

How many of these folks involved in this PAC are endorsing current candidates?

Remember the Mayor's traumatized cattle after the Easterwood emergency landing--wasn't there a Brazil connection? Seems an odd coincidence?
(Seem to remember something about that during that controversy--it should be checked out)

Great story for the local journalist willing to take it on! Oh, I forgot they're probably on the happy-hour circuit with these folks......

The TexAgs community will have to check this out---the clock is ticking.....

We're supposed to be upset that a businessman, who is contemplating moving a business to Bryan, is interested in the mayoral race?

This is the same mayor that has a $1/year lease with City of Bryan land to run his cow herd on and tried to extort an airplane pilot who had to make an emergency landing in said city field to get his plane back. The OP's info doesn't even move the needle in Bryan city politics......

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

The Better Bryan PAC is a Texas political action committee, not Federal.
Filing requirements do not stipulate citizenship for individuals.
There are hoops for out of state PACs contributing to Texas PACs.
Also, there are various types of Texas PACS.
As some might say, "it's complicated."

I thought this was going to be about another unregistered, thus illegal PAC, in our community.
