How collectivist of them. There is no end to the terrible ideas the left can devise. It seems this would make it so that unions have zero reason to bargain in good faith. Just wait out the employer, draw unemployment, take a vacation, and wait until the business finally has to give in to whatever crazy ideas the union demands.

And worse, the additional costs that the businesses have to pay in unemployment ultimately gets passed on to the consumers of their goods. It's a backhanded tax.

Not shocked to see the anti-business, anti-capitalists are alive and well on the left coast. If this passes, I would imagine some companies will start developing long term plans to move somewhere that is more business friendly.

So basically the members of the Democratic Party, the recipient of union "donations", will use your tax dollars to put their thumb on the scale during negotiations with management so they can stay on strike indefinitely until the private sector is forced to concede?

Remember when we pretended we weren't a 3rd world banana republic?
