The near-party-line vote on the GOP-led measure was 214 in favor to 216 against.

Embarrassing. I hate to say it, but a national tragedy may be necessary to shake things up a bit.

Did someone change their vote? does present an issue as to whether it can be brought up for a vote again, since Scalise was missing?

(Asking because I don't know.)

Sure looks like things are headed that way. This is what happens when a veggy 'runs' the train. A derail is likely.

Edit: AND you have sell outs on the take on the so-called opposition party.

Must have.

You don't bring it to a vote unless you have the votes

I guarantee that the Democrats would have made sure that they ALL tow the party line. Why are Republicans such spineless wusses?

Pathetic.

"Among the GOP defectors were Reps. Ken Buck of Colorado, Tom McClintock of California and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin."

"The Mayorkas measure could come up for a vote again. Rep. Blake Moore, R-Utah, immediately filed a motion to reconsider after the vote failed so that it can be brought to the floor at a later date, like when Majority Leader Steve Scalise returns to Washington after receiving cancer treatment."

Moore changed his vote to no to allow the impeachment measure to be able to come to the floor again.

It may not be over yet.

Yes, these are the four, but McConnell and Romney have been supportive of Democrats all week along with the crappy border bill.

So that's why Moore voted against it. It allowed him to do that.

So if they vote again when Scalise comes back and Moore votes yes as he was planning, that vote passes 216Y and 215N, correct?

Yeah that was a bad leap for me. But Romney is trash. Part of what he is saying that Senators and representatives are working against Biden because Trump doesn't want to solve the problem after three years of Democrat policies. It's pathological.

Probably.

Unless other Republicans get pulled off.

It IS amusing how when the GOP all votes together, they're "in lockstep" but when Democrats do it, they're "unified"...

We've had multiple national tragedies. Dems know if they do it gradually enough Republicans won't do anything.

Romney is such an a**hat. It didn't have anything to do with who got credit, the border bill wouldn't have solved anything. It was and is a terrible bill.

Slight derail over.

Republicans suck. How many House members have retired nd didn't even stick out their term? Mccarthy and his sour grapes sure as **** high tailed it outta there.

Santos was voted out but dems get to stay in congress. Looking at you Menendez and Omar.

Republicans miss votes because of health but dems get rolled in right off the surgery floor.

Suck it up Republicans
