I was thinking about doing another time capsule thread and will probably wait until July for July 2025 (which will be 6 months after next POTUS inauguration).

July 4, 2076 is 50 years and change from today. With the changes from last 50 years, does F16 think this USA will exist? I also found below article.

Nope…

With everything going on and how the country has radically changed across multiple areas over the last two decades alone, then no. The country will start falling apart. What's going on socially, economically, globally and with all the illegal immigration (no borders), and with elected officials wiping their ass with the constitution…the country as is cannot be sustained or look anything like it did even a decade ago.

By that time the US will be an Orwellian dystopia (even more so than present), but yes. And there will no no one here to oppose it, just as planned.

Not no, but hell no.

I mean, they may keep the name, but the country is already gone right now. It's nothing but an economic zone occupied by various factions.

When the boomers expire, wow I can't even imagine. I feel bad for my kids. It's gonna be a hellscape.

I wish all you young folk the best and I sincerely pray God's grace and mercy for you and your families in the very difficult times that lie ahead.

The changes from just 20 years ago have been unimaginable.

2060… this country will be unrecognizable. Will probably be some socialist European style police state with the level of systemic government corruption of South America.

Current USA isn't the same one that would be celebrating a tricentennial anyways

By 2076, "America" will have ceded part of itself to form a caliphate. Society will have largely broken down due to two factors: governmental oppression and idiocy.

The government will still be stifling individual freedoms, and there will be very few intelligent people operating independently of the government because they will have been executed by lawless urbanites.

Not sure we will make it to 2026/250th. A semiquincentennial BTW.

Yes, the US will be around and still the leader of the free world. Y'all are a bunch of grumbling, pessimistic old men.

We don't make it past 2026. Too far gone. American voting public is soft, dependent, can't think, feminine and don't really care.

Not if we keep """electing""" liberals.
hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. good times create weak men. and weak men create hard times.

America will still be here. What the social landscape looks like will be anyone's guess, and people will be arguing and hand-wringing about something that isn't even remotely on our radar right now.

I wonder what novel ways children in 2076 will have to come up with to shock their elders?

The USA didn't make it past 2020. The banana republic were in now doesn't deserve to be called the United States of America and should be given a different name.

Seeing as how neither of the two major parties support limited government, and this entire board "knows" voting for any other party is a wasted vote (or a vote for the opposition), I wouldn't hold your breath.

Many of the states are practically at each others throats now. Many people in the North East and Pacific Coast states hate the Southern, Mid-West and Mountain States and believe that we are backward rubes and a drag on their crowded urban states.

Once the National Debt Bomb goes off and collapses the economy the states will likely fracture and 2-4 countries will form, primarily along state lines and political beliefs.

As the years go on the more distracted we are and lazier we get to change the direction we are heading. We are just sitting behind a keyboard now instead of being out there voicing our opinions. In 50 years we won't even be keyboarding our frustrations. We will sit there taking it more than we are now. USA will still be there but no longer a powerhouse

Eh a country can limp along a long, long way on the decline. It might but only if we manage to avoid a major transcontinental war.

Yes - easily. We will hit 2076 as the wealthiest, freest, and most prosperous nation in the world. The U.S. has unrivaled structural advantages and the cynicism displayed on F16 is totally unwarranted.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes. We have the strongest position economically, politically, demographically, and geopolitically in the world for the next century of all developed countries in the world. And it isn't even close. Just need angsty boomers and overly zealous liberals to calm the **** down and let it work. Tearing **** down is not in anybody's benefit, yet the only threat is nihilistic people tearing **** down. The America hating has really gotten to an unhealthy level on the right and left. Sadly, it used to only be a left problem... But here we are.

I'm 64 years old, just retired and living exactly like I planned. I cannot imagine being around so many negative people. Good, bad, or somewhere in between, I'm going to find something to be happy about. Yes, the USA has gone through many changes, some bad, some good, some meh - but I have hope that we'll always flourish as a country.
