Nikki Haley should stay in the race until the RNC Convention

We shouldn't let two ice bound states determine who the rest of us can vote for.

Also, Trump is old and in legal trouble - LOTS of it. A lot can happen between now and summer. The GOP needs a viable candidate to run against Biden. Haley can be the candidate if Trump is not available.

She should stay in the race all the way.

Hell no. This logic could work for a good conservative candidate like Desantis? But a swamp feeder like Haley? No body benefits from her hanging around.

She needs to fade into Bolivia. It's over.

No way she gets the nomination. Trumps delegates would go to another candidate if Trump becomes ineligible. But thanks for the opinion Rino.

This is why candidates suspend their campaigns instead of dropping out completely. In the event there is an issue later on, they can more easily jump back in.

Trump just mopped the floor against the best the GOP could throw at him.

If people are willing to donate, I don't have a problem with her staying in. It actually keeps the focus on her and off Trump and the general longer (off the court cases). Trump actually benefits from the sideshow by racking up wins and yet not being the sole focus of Dem attack scrutiny quite yet.

Haley should switch parties and takeover for Biden, it would be a better fit for her.

Her career in the GOP will be over when Trump beats her by 20pts in her home state. I'm looking forward to it.

This is BS

Haley is a moderate. Biden is far left and an idiot. Trump is a populist with a conservative lean, DeSantis was a through and through conservative but he is out.

I'm not a Haley fan but she'd be a million times better than the trash we have now.

I'm anyone but a democrat.

Rob - I respect your position. Candidates must earn my vote too. Besides spending and Fauci, what policies/actions did Trump take in his term that prevent you from voting for him?

There's a few things that could cost him my vote this year, so I'm genuinely interested.

Agree to disagree. Haley is garbage, as bad as a democrat. Her in the WH, even as VP would be terrible.

What's worse, getting screwed over by a stranger or by a member of your own family?

Haley should have been on the Democrat ticket instead of the GOP ticket.

It says a lot about the GOP that they let her be a prominent figure in the party.

If the Freedom Caucus didn't stop him he would have had Amnesty and Gun Control, he banned Bump Stocks as it was.

Trump likes winning and feeling like he is doing things, the actual details of policy are secondary. It amazes me people don't see that. He's still a far better option than any D and Haley is a freaking joke at this point that is literally only propped up by Dems that are crossing over to vote for her. I mean she spent an insane amount of Larry Fink and Charles Koch's money in NH which is as moderate as they come and still lost even with a huge crossover vote. She isn't even eligible in Nevada. She will lose her home state huge, probably by 20 or 30 points. To consider her viable is a joke.

We had one good conservative candidate but apparently people don't want that. If Trump has a heart attack or something maybe as that would create chaos.

Haley would win the General but would be despised by the GOP. It would basically be like having Mitch McConnell as President with a skirt.
Dan Scott
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Trump is going to win pretty easily. I think it's actually good for Haley to stay and have Trump win the states. It'll make Trump look even stronger after seeing him win over and over and over again especially after the trials have started.
Jeeper79
How long do you want to ignore this user?
There's probably an 80% overlap between trump, Haley and DeSantis, and they all probably share a 10-20% overlap with Dems. It's silly to think Haley wouldn't be a decent choice to the GOP - maybe even a very good one. She's more viable in the general election than Trump, and MAGA would still get the overwhelming majority of what they want from a policy position if she were the GOP nominee. But it's been said before and it still not wrong…

MAGA is about a man more than a platform. The platform is what the man says it is. If they can't have the man, the platform is mostly worthless. Sometimes (often?) when you force an ultimatum, you're left with the "nothing" instead of the "all".

Winning the general is the point of running a nominee though. Wouldn't it be better to have someone from your side win, even if you don't like them, than to lose with the one you really like?

And I'm using "you" in the very general way, not you specifically.

Disagree. Being establishment doesn't make one moderate. And with the left sprinting towards crazy-town, sliding left to stay "in the middle" is in some ways even more dangerous than the extreme leftist

(The agent who resets the baseline further left is far more dangerous than he who pushes the fringe. Normalizing "some" Maoism makes it far harder to ever swing the pendulum back. And when this agent carries the "R" label the media and punditry have a perfect fall-guy, too, which further degrades the chances for Conservative Reform.)

Enough with the squishy R's who just want to boil our nation SLOWER. Enough with the cowardice.

Running Trump again is like the Dems nominating Bernie Sanders.

Dems didn't nominate Bernie. They nominated the more centrist guy Biden. And they won.

Yet on here you would think Haley is the 2nd coming of Stalin.

She is not an option. She's the dems choice for republicans. If the marxists make it impossible for Trump to run, then DeSantis needs to re-enter.

That seems likely to be her high water mark, whether you want to call it mopping the floor or something else. Blue states tend not to have open primaries, so I don't know where her votes are going to come from. If something does happen to Trump, she still won't be the nominee.

I'm not even necessarily arguing my personal thoughts either. Honestly I would probably pick Haley over Trump at this point because she is more likely to win and it would repudiate Trump and the idea that you need to act like a classless lying ass to win. Definitely a pick your poison situation, both suck but for different reasons. At least with Haley you know she is an Establishment hack. With Trump you have an Establishment hack that pretends to be a conservative. The only negative is it is an 8 year decision with Haley instead of a 4 year with Trump.

Just amazes me we don't seem to want the conservative option but it is what it is.

Yeah, a party rigging primaries and forcing their establishment candidate to the front of the line over the will of the people is something that every party should strive for.
