Who really is running things? I think its a cabal of the wife and staffers, but who has the final say?

Why doesn't a single republican name who is running things? You would think a Rand Paul wouldn't go along and would say who is running things.

Rand Paul is intentionally not invited to meetings like that. Mitch McConnell certainly likes Joe Biden and his handlers better than he likes Rand Paul. Or us.

Biden is calling everyone together so his handlers can make sure everyone understands that he and the democrats will continue to dictate terms on all legislation. The border is broken because the Executive Branch refuses to enforce the law, but if Congress will pass a law they like, democrats will still do whatever they want to.

The scary answer is that no one person is really in charge. There are a small number of Obama administration alums trying to pull the strings, but no clear chain of command, so the folks running the various agencies (the career civil servants, all liberal democrats) pretty much do everything they've always wanted do to, but were never allowed when their was a chain of command where someone had to worry about the consequences of decisions. That's how we can have the Secretary of Defense go AWOL for a week and no one notices.

My point is that we don't know because no one who represents us is allowed to see behind the curtain.

I've asked this question before. On a day to day basis, Jeff Zients is running things. I believe there is an inner circle, chaired by him, of Jill Biden, Jen O'Malley Dillon and Steve Ricchetti who manage the White House overall.
