State of the State Address in Florida today. We need this kind of attitude in DC!

It might go down as long as small government conservatives control the state. The next Dem governor will quickly reverse it.

Or reduce the tax rate so it stays at zero.

Wait.

I was told by several Trump sycophants (not on here) that DeSantis has abandoned FL while campaigning. How was he able to do a State of the State Address there?

DeSantis decided to solve that problem by all but destroying the Dem Party in Florida. He was elected by 50k votes and had a small majority in the Leg but the GOP had lost seats when he was elected in 2018. Dems had about several hundred thousand voter registration advantage.

He has a Super Majority in both as of 2022 and has flipped the registrations by 800k to the GOP. It's called leadership and winning and not making excuses. He gets stuff done and just delivers time after time to the point that even Democrats admit that he is extremely competent and effective even if they don't like all his policies.

That's why he's got my vote - he uses common sense and gets things done that benefits everyone.

Posted this on the other thread but it shows how he thinks and operates. Calmly and rationally explaining his position and how to address it. Instead we have a GOP Leadership that does a photo op at the Border and then gives away a deal to do nothing about it right afterwards. Oh, but they give the Dems every spending priority they want. Trump's guy Johnson has been a complete bust.

Wouldn't it only go down at the exact moments payments are made? Otherwise interest ticks up.

This is a simple way for the people to understand that his decisions either work or they do not. This would also draw the enemy of this nation into a fiscal debate which they could never win in a million years.

True. Desantis is the quintessential "facts don't care about your feelings" candidate. Everyone else are emotional "feels over reals" sheep.

given that the republicans in congress just allowed $1.7TT in new spending, not sure there is much he would be able to do as president.

DeSantis is a conservative, not a republican since the party has been hijacked.

Though some people still naively cling to the false notion that the republican party is a conservative party.

and yet he is running as a republican, and not under the mythical Conservative Party banner.
And? What is your point?

It certainly can't be that the Republican party as a whole is conservative because the only thing they have acted towards conserving is the slow drift to the left. DeSantis is unique and does not fit that description, like I said...

and? what is YOUR point.

you are the one that said "muh conservative" as if that matters to this topic. he is running as and with the same Republicans you are complaining about as if that means he will accomplish any more that any other president labeled "republican" since he has to work with said "republicans".
I agreed with YOUR initial premise.... I'm not sure why you are being so defensive when I was agreeing with you in the first place....

DeSantis is a conservative... Do you agree?
The Republican Congress just passed a 1.7T in new spending, which is not a very conservative stance in my opinion... Do you agree?

If so, this it has been painfully obvious for quite some time that the stance of the Republican party is to conserve the slow drift to leftism rather than traditional conservative values....

DeSantis does not do enable the slow drift to leftism but rather pushes back, therefore my statement which agreed with YOUR initial premise that a conservative likely will not get much done with a R Congress that is not conservative....

Your complaints should be directed at the R party down ballot so that DeSantis CAN get more done as President.

I'm definitely voting for DeSantis in the primary. Best governor in America. Probably the most effective at fighting the Dems we've ever seen in America.

One thing is for sure, we know no one is writing Trump's speeches. Gibberish like this could have only come from Trump himself.

R D might have their debt under control but it's super unsafe there for POC and LGBTXYZs. He personally runs around lynching them and I heard warnings had been issued, per the MSM.

Come on man, he's bad news.

Whoever launches the offspring party first is the loser. Without any question, if there was a Conservative Party, it would get all the R votes. It would be fresh and popular. I feel if the enemy of this nation did that, it would not work. The Big D is the strongest attribute for the enemy of this nation.

In review, let's look at the Green Party. Do we agree this is the offspring of the enemy of this nation? And.... climate bs is a major platform piece yet the Green Party is obsolete.

If DeSantis ran on a Conservative Party ticket against Trump as the Republican, barack would be POTSS again.
